Am I the only one that feels like Allnurses.com is like a Facebook for nurses and nursing students? lol I've become slightly obsessed with it, I have the app and everything.. I get excited when I see new topics posted and reading all the comments and different point of views. I don't start my nursing program until January, but I already feel as if I've learned so much from this site alone! Maybe I'm just an ultra-nerd, but OH WELL! Thought I'd share. lol

I agree! It's been very comforting to converse with other prospective nursing students and read about everyone's stories and to be able to vent about problems others can relate to. xD I'm so happy I found this site!

Love it too, been slacking the last few months since Nursing School has been kickin my tush but enjoying AN on my Christmas break before my "semester from hell" starts next month (med surg 1, pharm, patho & OB/peds yikes!)

There are so many myths and misconceptions about the nursing profession out there that I appreciate allnurses.com acting as a counterbalance. If I see one more "CLICK HERE TO SEE TOP 5 BEST PAYING JOBS THAT ARE SUPER EASY AND HOT GUYS WILL RUB YOUR FEET AND FEED YOU GRAPES" ad, I'm gonna headbutt my computer screen.

As much as people complain about the "negativity" on AN, it helped prepare me tremendously for school. I had no illusions about a glamorous Grey's Anatomy-esque environment, understood the difficult job market waiting for me on the other side, and learned to never, EVER victimize myself and roll with the punches (because it turns out that I'm not a special snowflake). It would have been an entirely different experience without the frank, matter-of-fact words of fellow nurses here.

True. Though I have, ten years since joining the site found a guy who will rub my feet without prompting and would probably feed me grapes if I prompted.

And yeah, I could download the app but I don't. Nor will I like it on facebook or post a conversation to twitter. Because I'm not twenty.

I've been a part of this site since 2009 as a pre-nursing student. I'm still here as an RN. The nurses on here give excellent advice and are brutally honest. I'm usually on AN during my lunch break too. I can't stay away from here too long before I start missing it.
