How old were you when you started nursing school?

The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

Started my BSN program when I was...*counting on fingers* 24 years old. Now I'm 29 and happily employed as an ER nurse. Hang in their students. There is a light at the end of the tunnel! And you can pay of your loans and still have money to eat too.

I CAN AFFORD TO EAT NOW THAT I HAVE MY RN JOB! WOOOOT!!! Never gets old.

Got my acceptance letter today ....so, 46 when I start the accelerated RN program this coming Jan!

29 yrs old just started.

Started ABSN at 46, will graduate at 47. Never too late!

Started Prereqs age 18. Got accepted to the BSN program age 20. I am now 22 with one more semester left. Will be 22 or 23 when I graduate, depending when graduation will be. Ackkk, time flew by fast! Excited, nervous and definitely scared!

28 for LPN, 33 for RN..34 for BSN, hopefully 35-36 for MSN

I'm 17 and I'm applying to programs (Yes, I graduated high school at 15 and started my pre-reqs at my local CC right after) and I'll be 18 when I start my clinical program.

I went to nursing straight out of high school at 18 graduated at 20... Got a job on a trauma/surgery floor right out of school for three years... And now happily working on oncology for six months so far!

17! Started my BSN program.

Funny thing happened today. Went to register for classes and we had a small meeting with the instructors. The director thought I was a student's mother and was directing me to a lounge to wait LOL I'm 46, probably will be the oldest in my class by the sound of it :roflmao:

I started nursing school at 48. Just turned 49. I will be close to turning 51 when I graduate.

43 and starting my ADN program in January...plan B in life. :)
