The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

I just started last week at 36 years old. I will be 38 when I finish and maybe 39 when I become a nurse. I'm probably the oldest person in my class. But I'm wiser and experienced. :nurse:

I'm starting nursing school at 36; 38 when I graduate too... Then I'm moving strait to my bsn want to finish before my 40th bday!

I feel like I'm going to be the oldest in my class too but with age come more wisdom and responsibility! Just want to be able to find a job at that age.

32 years young when I started pursuing my ADN. Will be 34 years and 8 months old when I complete it (lol), then plan to pursue my MSN (for RNs with undergrad degrees out of field).. Can't wait!

I just got accepted into my program. Started my core and prerequisite part time in 2010! I start the nursing program at 46 in January 2014! I made it, too!

I was 29 and i will graduate at 31 from and accredited program. I have been a paramedic for 5 years now.

I'm 50 and in my second semester.

I will start when I'm 21 (my current age) and depending on if I get into another ABSN program I want to get into, I will graduate when I'm 22 or 23. :0

I was 48 when I graduated nursing school. I wish I had done it sooner, but better late than never!

I was 23 when I started. Just turned 24.

Started at 19

20, starting ASN program.

Just turned 49 and am in my first semester of my ADN program. You're never too old to start!

I ran my own business and worked in Animal Health part time for years...taking my second turn at life and am applying to the Nursing Program for either Sept. 2014 or January 2015 start. First time TEAS V score (after being out of school for years) I got a 76 overall and a 92 in Reading; I will be retaking that after having now completed both College Algebra and A&P and hoping the Math and Science will improve. I have a 3.57 GPA and and hoping that and a higher TEAS score will get me into the program. Looking to get my ADN and then go for BSN online while working. Never let anyone tell you that you are too old...my Advisor at college said that my attitude and that I seem younger than my years will serve me well. For the younger women....keep telling yourself that you can do anything and nothing can stop you; for the older students like myself...age is just a number and sometimes the experience in life gives you a more mature outlook on things and that can work in your favor. I am 56....and age has never been a hindrance for me. The women in my family live into their 90's....so I figure I have a lot of life left to live!
