The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

Started nursing school at 55! Working nurse just graduated with my RN ASN degree in May. Got a job a week before I graduated at the hospital where I wanted to work on the floor that I wanted to be on. Passed my NCLEX first try in 75 questions. Loving every day on the job!! Just started volunteering as "Camp Nurse" at Camp Twin Lakes for children with disabilities. Worked three 12 hour shifts in a row last week, packed and headed to camp MDA Walk n' Roll 24/7 where the kids were amazing!! You can do this at any age if you take care of yourself and refuse to let a number define you! LIVING MY DREAMS!! #liveunlimited
I was 21 when I started an LPN program I came (thisclose) to finishing, but didn't. I had a stressful bartending job that was a huge appearance based popularity contest and worked way more than I should have. Went back to a different, more humane lol, program at 24 and finally became an LPN at 25, feeling way too old to still be in school. Really wish I could go back and be excited for all those little milestones, instead of feeling like I should have been done ages ago.
