How old were you when you started nursing school?

The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

I am in my 2nd semester of the RN program and I am 50. I figure I will be 54-55 when I get my BSN.

Started college at 17, took a year off in the middle, graduated at 22 with BSN in 1973 and been working ever since.

I got my RN license when I was 21. My BSN when I was 23.

I am 28 and finishing my first semester i have my finals next week! I already have a BA but i must say nursing school is tough i dont know how far ill go but i hope i make it! Ill be 30 by the time i graduate!

I was 19 when I started pre-reqs, finished that at 22. Now I'm 23 and will be starting ADN nursing program in the fall. I actually feel lucky to have gotten into a program at a fairly young age.

Started at 18, LPN age 19. Finished ADN/RN at 21.

Finished LPN at 45, RN at 47

Specializes in Hospice, Palliative Care.

Started prerequisites at age 50, Jesus willing, will complete the RN program this December 2016 at age 53.

Specializes in MICU.

Well, started in 2013 with my prerequisite at age 21. Started nursing school at age 22 and will be done this december with a Bsn at age 24.

Specializes in NICU, Trauma, Oncology.

34 when I decided to apply to nursing school.started at 35 and will graduate at 37. I Have previous degrees though and was working in research.

I started pre reqs at 18, starting ADN program at 21, and I'll be 23 when I graduate! Hopefully I'll be 24 or 25 when I get my BSN.

I have a BS degree in Education and started my prerequisites at 36 1/2. I'm starting an Accelerated BSN program this Wednesday after turning 38 last month. It will all hopefully be completed in 17 months and I will graduate at about 39 1/2 years old!
