The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

24 years old

I will be 24 when I start in January and 26 when I graduate with my ADN and hopefully 27 when I get my RN-BSN online. Thinking of becoming an NNP around 35, after a few years in the NICU. 😌

Future NNP

Just started. I am 31.

Started straight out of high school, age 18 in LPN program, finished age 19, "I was a teenage LPN". Finished ADN age 21, BSN age 31, MSN/FNP age 44. Plan to apply for DNP next fall. If stay on target should finish age 60.

I started RN program when I was 19, graduated at 21 :)

I just started my nursing school. When I graduate, I will be 47. Never to late.

I got my LNA in high school (18), and began university in the nursing program at 18 as well.

I started prereqs at 39-10/12, graduated with ADN at 44 will start BSN probably at 44-1/2! Start my first job as licensed RN in one week!

I was 21 when I started my BSN program and I have 1 more year to go!

Specializes in Mental Health, Maternity & Well-Woman Care.

I began the clinical portion when I was 26 (worked on pre-reqs, and co-reqs for the BSN for almost 3 years before that). I will most likely graduate on my 27th birthday (ASN), and 28th for my BSN.

I was 23 and at the time I felt old, but there were actually a lot of students older than I was. One of the top students in my class (always acing all her exams, impressing our clinical instructors) was in her late 40's.

Specializes in Medical-Surgical/ Neuroscience.

I was 22 when I started the actual program, Im 24 and I graduate in May. I started my pre-reqs when I was 19. I'm in a 4-year RN BSN program but it took me 5 years to finish :)
