I am finally a Registered Nurse ! To GOD be the glory ! 127 questions in 2 hours. I did the PVT twice (once 4 hours after I finished and 12 hours after I finished) had the good pop up both times.
To prepare, I dedicated 3-4 weeks of completing allll of the Kaplan Qbank, Qtrainers and alternate tests, readiness test and diagnostic test; a total of 2,979 questions. I went over every question and read the rationales-- whether the questions were wrong or right. I also used my ATI comprehensive review book to look up any information I needed clarification on. Kaplan, the 35 page review and my ATI book were my only resources.
The day before the exam I went out with some friends and didn't study. Day of, I arrived an hour early to the testing center, prayed, cried lol and reviewed a "NCLEX need to know" pamphlet. The test was NOT easy, it truly is a monster and you can truly only be confident & utilize your nursing critical thinking skills. I had no delegation questions (maybe 1 I don't remember any), 10-12 SATA, 2 cardiac strips, ample amount of pharm, 3 math, 1 drag and drop, 2 pictures, and a ton of prioritization questions. I walked out thinking I failed; I knew probably 70% of the content asked. But still. If you haven't taken the NCLEX yet you can do it ! Confidence and remaining calm is truly key.
Thank you for taking the time to read my testimony.
