  1. That sucks, but what if you get certified in Arizona and TRANSFER it to MI.

  3. Sometimes, just seeing them weeds them out. If the personality sucks, too, that gets a cuter guy with a chance rejected. Not tons, not trying to sound like a jerk. Just some.
  4. I'm guessing OP already knows ABC? If you want specifics, there's a million scenarios that could turn out many different ways and there isn't enough information posted to go on. What are they admitted with, what meds have they received, etc..
  5. PS-I really hope you understand the legal risk involved in contacting someone who doesn't want to be. It's very easy to get put in jail and honestly, I would have had a restraining order by now. Intensity isn't attractive if it's in the form of anger directed at you. Oh, and every guy I've told gently that they weren't my type ended up on a verbal, sometimes physical rampage. It doesn't work and people get rejected. Please learn not to take it personally, even when it is. One last thing, PLEASE don't think the responses on here justify any contact, even for an apology. Think of how nice it is to not have legal black marks, if nothing else.
  6. Talk to the director of nursing or human resources. I'm even venturing you could bring up that you working that much is as dangerous as the people who were working high being there. I know it sounds extreme, but think about it.
  7. She tried to turn you down, basically hoping you'd lose interest by the time she was out of school. You're making yourself sound really stalkerish and disrespectful, just based on what you've posted. She isn't interested and doesn't want to be contacted, what part of that didn't you get? Sorry your ego got bruised, but no part of this situation is healthy. It would be best to move on and leave the poor girl alone.

Please clarify the procedure you want done. I'll do it, and please think of an apology while I do whatever it is you said to." 'Sorry, ladies and gents, I've received s great amount of abuse from everyone in the facilities I've worked in. From housekeeping to doctors. About 25 or so, I grew a major backbone and quickly developed a reputation of being NOT the one to say that to. OP, best of luck. First and foremost, you deserve respect, and you make sure you get it.
  10. They're not your friends. You bonded with them in the living hell that is nursing school. You chose a path you felt best for your professional growth and so did they. I'm a total stranger and applaud your decision to make such a long term decision that will benefit you in the future. There. I've just given you more (well due) respect and admiration than your friends have in five minutes than they have in much longer. You deserve better friends, especially during this stressful time. Even if it's on this site. I applaud your bravery and dedication.
  11. You'd lose at least 25k between the contract breaking fee and working for what agency aides make where I live. Ohio isn't exactly NYC. If you don't need that 25k, I'd give it a very happy home for you. I think the 15 an hour is a slap in the face, plus no guaranteed employment. What if they find any reason to get rid of you or you work so short your license is put in danger? Super low pay doesn't always equal an ideal everything else. Plus, what if they're so willing to take just about anyone for that rate and quickly develop a bad reputation? Plus, not sure what cost of living is at the low paying location, but do they provide housing, transportation, anything? That would be 1800 after taxes for me, not very livable between rent, a car lease, school, pets, etc.. Best of luck and I hope whatever decision you make proves to be a great experience.
  12. I'm going to sound awful, but I think my almost fifteen years in the medical field is enough for humans. Maybe a five or ten to a homeless person once in a while, a twenty to the Red Cross. Animals are where I shine. I've fostered and adopted many rescues, actually volunteered at the APL, and they've gotten a few hundred from me for seven? years. I just have so much more sympathy for the furry in need, cuz they love you no matter what. Even dogs rescued from dog fighting rings are sweet most of the time.
  13. No. It's just something they say to scare you. I heard this directly from the people who run the STNA registry for my state. The guy actually laughed, though I don't recommend doing that upon returning to work.
  14. I'm not a guy, so I apologize for posting here if that's not ok. Your good coworkers won't care about your sexual orientation, just about how you are to work with and the care you give. I've worked with straight people who were awful to work with and people who were gay and in open poly/BDSM type relationships who were awesome. That said. I've worked with narrow minded managers who rode alternative lifestyle people really hard, as if they had more to prove. Don't ever let someone treat you like that. Regretfully, I was young at the time and didn't stand up for my co-workers/friends. Someone who's name i don't remember once said people treat you how you allow them to.
  15. They can withdraw approval for a number of reasons, returning to review what the school has done to fix the problem or problems some time later. Those actions are what I'd focus on, because they're what the approving.....board? will be looking at when deciding what to do. That said, if it was me and my money, I'd look for a different program based on cost alone. Best of luck.
