I know these are difficult financial times. To acknowledge Nurses Week at our facility, someone taped a sheet of paper outside a door leading to our unit that said "HAPPY NURSES WEEK".
That was all. Not that we needed to have a luxurious luncheon or flowers or candy. This was a computer generated sheet with the words. I guess at least it wasn't handwritten in magic marker and the words were spelled correctly.:loveya:
Oh come on . Do you really believe that they care about nurses? Ya know we were very low pay professionals until.....we got male nurses then our pay scales started to rise...but our overall benifits plumetted. Now we have no nurse appreciation week..day .. whatever hmmmm what will be next....I wonder?
JFK Medical Center/Edison did NADA=====NOTHING AT ALL!! A poster taped up on the wall, with some balloons. Oh....they announced a free breakfast, and guess what time it was set for: 7am to 8am!!! What a laugh!!! Guess they didn't want to serve many breakfasts.....everyone is in report then. Just terrible!

My mom usually sends me a card for nurses week. It means more to me than anything.
