Hep B vaccine

When you were preparing all your required paperwork and vaccinations, did your Hep B series need to be completed (all 3 shots administered) prior to starting your clinicals?

My school requires that 2 of the series be completed before going to clinicals. I think you only have to wait 30 days between #1 and 2, then it is a longer wait for shot 3.

My school doesn't REQUIRE the Hep B series, but it is recommended. For those who don't want to get the vaccinations, then you have to sign a waiver.

As long as we had the first 2, we could start clinicals. We have to make sure we go back for our 3rd (mine is due in November) in order to continue with clinicals.

My school doesn't require it but they do suggest it you have to sign a waiver if you don't get it.

I would adamantly recommend getting the Hep B shot, rather than signing the waiver just because getting the series is a PITA. One of the major dangers with fingersticks is hepatitis.

My school also doesn't require the vaccine. You have to sign a waiver if you don't get it.

I'm getting it though. I'd rather not risk it.

We were required to have all three PLUS the titer to prove immunity.

In my school we'll be allowed to start clinical before getting the 3rd shot.

I was wondering about this - I signed the waiver, but was debating if I should get the Hep B vaccine anyhow.

I'm not sure my school requires it at all...I don't really remember since I had the series completed awhile ago since it's standard, at least at my doctor's office.

I have to get titer drawn, as I had the series about 20 yrs ago. They says protection is for a lifetime, going to find out soon. My guess is that I'll need to get the vaccine again.
