Hope someone in your school remembers.
My school is acknowledging nurses' week way more than the hospital I work. We have received numerous gifts (Godiva chocolate, they know we like the good stuff) and most teachers have wished us a happy nurses week. I truly am in the twilight zone compared to most school nurses and I am immensely grateful.
I very much lucked out on my school for sure!! Around here we are included in on all the teacher related extras this week. Pies, chick fila lunches, and jeans all week!!
But today!!!!!!!!!!I was so blown away!!! My K-6 building went above and beyond. I am a die hard Game of Thrones fan and my Bear Family knows that and man did they come through!!!! I am so blessed to be here!!!!!
This is my 2nd year at my school and my 2nd year in school nursing- I spent the first 20 years working in a hospital mostly in the OR. I think I'm one of the lucky ones on here, but I feel very valued and appreciated at my school. I have supportive administration and teachers who value my opinion and what I do everyday. I get celebrated along with the teachers who I consider my coworkers even though I'm the only nurse here. My front office staff are the absolute best and help me throughout my day. They ordered a bench for my clinic with cubbie holes under it for storage since they are always borrowing my chairs in the clinic for the "naughty" students who get sent up to the office. They got me a gift card for a much needed mani and pedi. My office door is covered in notes and pictures from the students and the 5th/6th grade hallway teachers and staff have brought me a little gift everyday this week. I got the cutest poster from my PK classes that is the cutest thing ever! My nurse director got all the nurses a gift and ice cream yesterday at our meeting. This was more than I ever expected and more than my hospital ever did for the nurses during nurses week. I love school nursing, but I am totally counting down the last 16 days. I'll be ready to do it all over again next year! Happy School Nurse Day to you all!

Happy Nurse's Week!
This is my first year at my current school (Charter School), we all wear many different hats. I was recognized during admin professionals day, teacher and staff appreciation week is this week (flowers, candies, etc.), and so far I've had one staff member recognize nurses week! I was never included during teacher and staff appreciation week at my old school! I feel like I scored huge leaving my district and going to the charter schools... Being recognized for everything is nice!
