Happy Nurse's Week! I received lovely flowers, a nice card, and a sweet desk sign that says "I'm a School Nurse, What's your Superpower?"

I was given blank thank-you cards to fill out for three teachers of my choice! Woohoo!

My principal gave me a lovely daisy plant and a card, and I've gotten a couple of verbal thank-you's from teachers; It's my first year here, and I think as the nurse, I get lumped in with Teacher Appreciation week (maybe) as I am technically "Faculty".

Nope, all about the teachers. I was super hurt this morning when they all received gifts and literally handed them out over my head in a meeting. ?

I'm usually included in the Teacher Appreciation Week (PTO usually gets me the same goodies as they do the teachers) but today I walked in to a big gift basket full of goodies and gift cards, a giant box of variety bandaids, big bottle of water, and a card from some of the parents (some on PTO, others not)!!! Oh, and a handmade card from one of my seniors! I was so pleasantly shocked! I'm never forgotten but this is the first year I've been this recognized and its pretty cool.

To every single one of you, you are amazing and appreciated! I wish I could send you all a little something but my words are all I can do!! HAPPY NURSE APPRECIATION WEEK!

Happy Nurses Week!!!! I appreciate all of you. As a second year school nurse I have learned so much by reading your posts and advice. You all have certainly helped me feel more comfortable as a school nurse.

This is the best little corner of AN. For the second year I arranged with the district's PR people to focus on nurses. Which meant that I collected five stories and am sending them out daily.

Ironically staff from my last district have wished me a happy week. Perhaps I wll send myself flowers!
