I know these are difficult financial times. To acknowledge Nurses Week at our facility, someone taped a sheet of paper outside a door leading to our unit that said "HAPPY NURSES WEEK".

That was all. Not that we needed to have a luxurious luncheon or flowers or candy. This was a computer generated sheet with the words. I guess at least it wasn't handwritten in magic marker and the words were spelled correctly.:loveya:

My mom usually sends me a card for nurses week. It means more to me than anything.

We had several blessing of the hands services by the chaplaincy, but I wasn't working so didn't go to any of them.

nada :smackingf

We got our instructor a very nice houseplant (it keeps living long after we're gone!), but the hospital did nothing. Kinda sad.

I work for home health agencies and don't have cases right now. Not a peep. I'm looking for different employers, maybe find some that have a little or a lot of work for me. That's all I care about.

This is the first year in my memory where nurses week wasn't celebrated.

All we received was a red flyer from the corporate office which read, "Happy Nurses Week!"

Now I know how highly management values nurses at my workplace!

I work in a building that has two different healthcare organizations in it. We share hallways and eating spots. The other organization put up pictures and banners, but my organization did nothing...surely the boss saw what the other boss did....

This week, the DON is taking the nurses to lunch or dinner (you have to sign up for 1) at a nice restaurant nearby. I signed up for lunch.

Oh come on . Do you really believe that they care about nurses? Ya know we were very low pay professionals until.....we got male nurses then our pay scales started to rise...but our overall benifits plumetted. Now we have no nurse appreciation week..day .. whatever hmmmm what will be next....I wonder?

JFK Medical Center/Edison did NADA=====NOTHING AT ALL!! A poster taped up on the wall, with some balloons. Oh....they announced a free breakfast, and guess what time it was set for: 7am to 8am!!! What a laugh!!! Guess they didn't want to serve many breakfasts.....everyone is in report then. Just terrible!

We had nothing. It wasn't even mentioned.
