For Fun--Kudos 2 Me...The "toot your own horn" thread

Published

Hi, anyone want to brag a bit? After all, I think we deserve it.

I thought it would be fun to share some of our victories and things we think we should be patted on the back for.

Here's mine....I passed my first skills test this week and got a 100 on our first quiz in Fundamentals which I am soooo proud of because, as everyone knows, nursing tests are different than any other tests, you have to learn to think differently. You have to learn to think like a nurse, and WOOHOO, I DID IT!

Specializes in Emergency Dept. Trauma. Pediatrics.

Just saw I got a 93% on my Pharm exam I had on Tuesday!!!

Bad news : I made a 76 on my first pathophysiology test.

Good news: 21 people in the class failed, so I'm ahead of the curve.

Good news: I made a 86 on my first Med-Surg test!!!

Miscellaneous news: I'm on the publications committee for my school's chapter of NSA. I hope I'm not getting into too much stress with that, but I need some committee points.

Specializes in None Yet.

This is probably going to sound banana's but.......

So far I've made 102% and 108% on the first two A&P test of my lpn program! (after bonus marks of course).... I've never, ever, ever, ever made that good of marks... I know that the grades don't necessarily reflect how good of a nurse I'll be, but darnit... I'm going to be proud!

I struggled all through high school and have really worked hard at this and I'm extremely proud to say my lowest mark has been a 92.... I've never felt like I could do this more then I do now!

BTW... this is a great thread! It feels good to tell others of hard earned accomplishments.... kudo's to everyone who's posted a 'for the win' moment in their lives! :yeah:

Specializes in Home Care.

Scored 33/35 on my last exam after failing the first one. :)

Specializes in Emergency Dept. Trauma. Pediatrics.

Just checked off another class, Finished Psych and got a B and got a 91% on the Hesi, now 2 more exams and done with Advanced Pharm and just started Advanced Med/Surge

Specializes in Utilization Management.

Got a 1315 on my renal HESI (conversion score of 99.99%)...of course, I thought I completely bombed it.

I made a 92 on my first test for geriatric nursing!

Specializes in Oncology.

Put in my first successful foley yesterday. The urine in the tubing was beautiful.

Also...while the RN was charting, I assisted the new mom with breastfeeding and the baby latched! Definitely a good day in clinicals yesterday. I love OB!

Specializes in MDS.

I wanted to make the Dean's list but will settle for Honor Roll with a 3.64 GPA last quarter. I'm tootin' my own horn 'cause I think that's pretty darn good for working full-time, having kids to raise, and going to night school! :smokin:

Took my third foundations exam today and got 98%, only one question wrong. So far my average in the class is a 95%. Only about 6 more weeks left in the semester, Im praying that I can hold onto my A.

Last semester I struggled with my clinical paperwork so I was psyched when my clinical instructor for this semester asked to use my concept map and care plan for an example for future classes!

Found out I passed my care plan that I was so stressing about last week. Also got an email from Omicron Delta Kappa honor society asking me to join. I'm going to fill out the application and see what happens. I'm already part of Alpha Chi. All this doesn't make me feel so dumb. That really helps when you're in the battles of nursing school. Now if only I could get into Sigma Theta Tau; I have until the end of this semester or next to be eligible for that. I'm thinking 3 would be quite enough. 1 is enough actually, but the more, the merrier.

Gotta write my article for the nursing student newsletter now. A deadline awaits! Oh, and study.
