For Fun--Kudos 2 Me...The "toot your own horn" thread

Published

Hi, anyone want to brag a bit? After all, I think we deserve it.

I thought it would be fun to share some of our victories and things we think we should be patted on the back for.

Here's mine....I passed my first skills test this week and got a 100 on our first quiz in Fundamentals which I am soooo proud of because, as everyone knows, nursing tests are different than any other tests, you have to learn to think differently. You have to learn to think like a nurse, and WOOHOO, I DID IT!

In clinicals my instructor told me that I'm going straight to the top in nursing. ^__^

You have no idea how wonderful it is for an instructor to be able to say that. It happens so rarely that we celebrated it in the faculty lounge (or in AN, in the Guide area).

Holy moly! You win the thread! :)

This morning I walked into a test proctored by my clinical instructor and she asked me, "Do you belong in this room? Are you in this clinical group?"

Making big impressions.

Haha, maybe...except I was wearing scrubs (lab day.)

So sad. I've been almost completely ignored by my clinical instructors throughout nursing school. I don't get it. I mean, I guess it could be worse - I could be on their hit list!

On a positive note (since that's what this thread is about), I walked out of that Neurointensive Care test with the highest grade in the class!

Put in my first IV Tuesday. Got it on the first try. And, had an amazing preceptor who taught me so much. Then, yesterday I got certified in ELNEC (end of life care). Can't wait to become a hospice nurse!
