For Fun--Kudos 2 Me...The "toot your own horn" thread

Nursing Students General Students

Hi, anyone want to brag a bit? After all, I think we deserve it.

I thought it would be fun to share some of our victories and things we think we should be patted on the back for.

Here's mine....I passed my first skills test this week and got a 100 on our first quiz in Fundamentals which I am soooo proud of because, as everyone knows, nursing tests are different than any other tests, you have to learn to think differently. You have to learn to think like a nurse, and WOOHOO, I DID IT!

Received my acceptance into nursing school! I love this post. Congrats to everyone!!!

YAY! Congrats! :D

Got an 86 on my first Med Surg/ Maternity test! It was wicked hard and I thought I hadn't done well, so this makes me feel like I'm on the right track! Also gave my very first shot and IV push at clinical this week! I felt like SuperGirl :)

Specializes in hopeful ER/Surg.

Kicked total A$$ in Psych Nursing.

92 on the final.

Well we are halfway through our Fundamentals class and I have a ...........86%-the teachers met with everyone.. I had to not smile because others are failing....

Woo hoo for me!!!!

Kicked total A$$ in Psych Nursing.

92 on the final.

Nice! Congrats!

I quit my LTC job, which I hated. Now I'm hired into a dialysis clinic, have a long orientation and love my new boss!

... and I am a new grad.

THANK YOU Staragate for bumping this thread! More people seem to need more positive things to read!

Way too many grumpy pants lately.

Besides, I'm proud of myself. I landed in a specialty as a new grad.

Job hunt has been real feast or famine. Most of the 'feast' has been mediocre.

Specializes in Forensic Psych.

I'm feeing grumpy so I'll be positive for a short moment. :cheeky:

Yesterday was a great day! I got a 95 on my first test of the semester and checked off on the very last of my IV skills! I got to spend about 5 seconds celebrating, and then back to work!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thread!!!!! Don't have anything to add to it yet except for the fact that it's my 3rd week and I'm still ahead in my reading assignments, but hopefully soon! This should stay bumped up, I think it could help a lot of people :)

Specializes in Oncology/hematology.

Okay, let's see. This has been a very mixed semester. Kicked butt on the first test, got an 80 on the second. I decided to become the student rep, so that's awesome. The biggest thing is that I am kicked butt in clinicals, love all things nursing, and have overcome a lifelong fear of public speaking this semester. I cannot believe how much nursing school is changing me for the better.

Oh, and I'm graduating in May with Honors and will manage a 2nd degree by the end of the summer. I have surpassed all my expectations and continue to surprise those around me (except my husband who always knew I had it in me).

After my first week of my program I have gotten 100% on both quizzes that we have had (one on neuro assessment and one on cardio/respiratory assessment), and gotten full points on both my skills tests!

Congrats to all of you who are doing well too!
