What general discussion topic on allnurses do you get the most annoyed at?
For example: My pet-peeve is the "I hate working the floor. What cushy nursing jobs are there that do not require any real work?"
How would you like to respond to these topics?
For example: I would like to respond "Quit being lazy, put your time in, and develop into a stronger nurse before venturing out."
Without being specific enough to identify anyone, please contribute with your thoughts about topics that annoy you the most.
Please do not insult, demean, or disparage anyone. After all- at allnurses we are allfriends.
"My [online] ADN to BSN is just as good as your brick and mortar degree!"
So we heard. And thou dost protest too much.
If your entire ego and self-worth is tied up in denying that you actually, kinda, sorta feel a little insecure about your online BSN, for the love of all that is lovable, go get a Master's in something brick and mortar and let's hear the end of it.
Did I pass? you must know if I passed because you passed. Why wont you tell me if I passed? Don't you care if I passed? I can not possibly wait 48 hours, I will surely die. Don't you care if I die? TELL ME IF I PASSED!!
And the new wall of shame from relatively recently: Why do nurses have to be licensed? Isnt school enough?
I admit a peeve of mine are threads titled such as "I hate lazy nurses!". There was a recent one and I didn't respond. I get indignant when I read "About to take the NCLEX!!!!! HELP!!!" or just threads titled "HELP MEEEE!"
Like, call 911 if it's that bad!! How can anyone on a forum actually help a HEELLLLPPP!!!! It also sounds, I dunno, kind of demanding. "You need to heelllppp me!!!" I do? How interesting. And annoying. If you need HHEEELLLPPPP!!!! call an ambulance. If you need consolation, advice, or feedback, just ask for it :) No problemo.
I remember a few gems concerning Canada.
one poster wanted to move here because she was pregnant and didn't have health insurance and we would deliver her baby for free.
then there are the posters who don't know the difference between universal and socialized healthcare.
And those who insist we ration healthcare. We stopped putting people on ice floes and built LTC centres.
Love it when people don't get the answer they want then say it's bullying. Then some genius jumps in with "where's your empathy as a nurse" abs proceed to act like a saint.
Honey, you're not my patient. Nurses can be snarky if they want to be, and contrary to belief, we're not required to be mother Teresa 24/7.

That's my source of contention as well. Hello! Nursing is so versatile. There's so many unfilled, entry-level nursing jobs out there if you're willing to move and take a chance in another location.
