What general discussion topic on allnurses do you get the most annoyed at?

For example: My pet-peeve is the "I hate working the floor. What cushy nursing jobs are there that do not require any real work?"

How would you like to respond to these topics?

For example: I would like to respond "Quit being lazy, put your time in, and develop into a stronger nurse before venturing out."

Without being specific enough to identify anyone, please contribute with your thoughts about topics that annoy you the most.

Please do not insult, demean, or disparage anyone. After all- at allnurses we are allfriends.

"Help! I'm going to loose my license!"

ME: "You obviously lost the spelling bee, so I guess YES, you'll be 'loosing' your license too!"

And don't forget the ones about working in Quebec who are shocked that they will need to speak French

Better yet, how about the ones where they are migrating to Quebec under the Quebec immigration inniative and ask if they really, really have to live their and learn French

Oh gosh, where to begin? The most aggravating...it's my DREAMMMMMM to be a nurse, but I've failed xyz class and my CI is a bully. Can I pass??? Or the does the Pearson Vue trick work? By far the worst, any and every thread that NETY becomes the buzz word in.

How I respond to these really depends on my mood and how many of the exact same threads I've run across that day.

Your new "BFF" AKA the Stalker

(This did NOT happen on allnurses, was on another site)

Starts out with a response to a thread.........

Chapter 1-The Posts in the public forum

Q-What kind of nursing job do you have and do you like it?

A-Vague, general response

Q-I would totally love doing that-what is the name of you employer?

A-I'm sorry, but I'd rather not share that information with someone I don't know.

Chapter 2-The PM's in the message box

Q-So where do you work and are they hiring???

A-Ignore

Q-LOL you are toooo funny-I can tell you read my message! So where do you work, and do you think you could get me a job there?

A-Ignore, and try to figure out block function

Q-Why are you ignoring me- would it be better if I friend-ed you on Facebook? Tell me your name!

A-Ignore, and continue trying to figure out block function

Q-Why are you mad at me? All's I want to know is where you work, your name and your supervisor's name.

A-Ignore and give up on blocking

Q-Why are you being such a b_tch? I thought nurses were supposed to care about people. I need you to get me a job and use you for a reference- I thought you were my friend!

Please tell me what shoes will be the best for my feet. Daskos are the worst.

Just go to the store and try them out for yourself. It's an individual choice.

Which I think should be a banned topic. There are roughly twelve billion threads on this board dedicated to two generations of a software glitch that brings out and supports the absolute worst in people. It rewards weakness so profound its sufferers seem to approach spasmodic death throes at the suggestion they concentrate on something else for a mere 48 hours, 16 of which they'll likely be asleep.

Sigh....I need to go sleep and rein in my B-factor, and I don't mean the vitamin.

Short for the Pearson Vue Trick.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I know what it stands for and that it has something to do with NCLEX results, I was wondering what the trick is and the controversy with it.

Now I know it's the devil..

Au Contraire...the title of this thread is after all "Flame on" so it seems this is the perfect time to let your vitamin B flag fly!

Now I know it's the devil..

well, short explanation: it used to be that due to a glitch in the program one could log into the Pearson Vue website after taking the NCLEX and try to reschedule the exam. If you passed you got the "good pop-up" telling you that you couldn't reschedule, if you failed you got the "bad pop-up" that let you reschedule the test.

Controversy started when that glitch was supposedly fixed...now there is a workaround that requires entering your credit card information to pay for the retest before the good [or dreaded bad] pop-up appears. There are hundreds if not thousands of threads explaining the process and the workaround on AN...so, it's a topic that gets very old very fast!
