What general discussion topic on allnurses do you get the most annoyed at?

For example: My pet-peeve is the "I hate working the floor. What cushy nursing jobs are there that do not require any real work?"

How would you like to respond to these topics?

For example: I would like to respond "Quit being lazy, put your time in, and develop into a stronger nurse before venturing out."

Without being specific enough to identify anyone, please contribute with your thoughts about topics that annoy you the most.

Please do not insult, demean, or disparage anyone. After all- at allnurses we are allfriends.

My Next Post:

Please help with my homework assignment which is to write an essay regarding the relationship between the PVT, Canadian Nursing, and the fact that the NCLEX is really biased against beautiful people like me who are being bullied by nurses who will not retire while working at hospitals that refuse to hire an ADN with zero work history who has not passed the NCLEX in the last ten attempts, but will surely pass this time because God is no longer punishing me for not respecting ugly people who have a higher degree, but are definitely not smarter than I is because I refuse to give narcotics to anyone once I finally get my license after I repeat some remedial training at UMoneyGoodHere nursing school.

Poster: "I need help with this really hard math question:

Give 50 mg of Med A to Mr. Smith. On hand you have 25 mg tablets of Med A. How many tablets do you give?

HOWWWW do I figure this out? This is so hard!!! I won't have to do math like this in the real world, will I?"

Allnurses: "If you cannot figure out 2nd grade math in your head, perhaps you do not have a future in nursing."

Poster: "You are all BULLIES!!!!!!!!! Nursing is my dreeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmm."

"Does the Pearson Vue Trick really work?"

"I got this pop-up, what does it mean?"

Those are the only 2 that really annoy me, and I avoid it by not going to the NCLEX or student forum.

Oh another one is where someone posts that they have some sort of review guide, brain sheet, report sheet, etc. and all of a sudden 50 thousand lurkers emerge from the darkness to post that they would like a copy of it.

The simple answer is 4. Tell him to take two pills now and put the other two away so that you do not have to answer his call-light again.

Any post that begins with "am I the only one.....?".

Yep, of course you are the only one in a community of over 800 000 worldwide.

This is the best.thread.EVER. I needed this laugh after dealing with some very concrete, non-clinical co-workers who asked stupid questions all day long today. (Such as "this patient died yesterday, but his recertification assessment is due on March 5th. When will I be getting it? I need to check it off my list." Answer: "since the patient died, we do not need any such assessment [nor can we do one since he is dead and we will no longer be providing services] and he will be discharged today." "I don't understand, it's on my list.")

About the homework questions, I've wondered why they aren't started off as a discussion, it doesn't take much to get everyone talking.

At least know your audience and show some ingenuity.

I just do not understand the constant postings by nurses who are just AGONIZING over entitled or drug seeking patients or having to play waitress. The mental energy spent fretting and raging is more exhausting than just getting the guy in room 2 another sprite.

"Do I need a lawyer?"

Yep, if you have to ask that question you might want to retain one.

"Help! I'm going to loose my license!"

Haha anyone who doesn't know the difference between lose and loose should lose their license. ;) It's a cardinal grammar sin.
