Fall 09 hopefuls?

Okay... so I totally hijacked the Spring 09 hopefuls thread. But, it was a good idea.;)

This thread is for those of us that are aiming to start NS in Fall 09. Hopefully, we can keep this thread alive over the next year through all the craziness of pre-reqs, applying, and preparing for nursing school.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ONLY ONE YEAR AWAY!!!!

Anywho...

Where are you applying?

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?

When is your schools deadline?

When does the acceptance letters go out?

What is your plan A, B, C...?

Hey, I'm in with ya!

I am applying to UCC in Oregon.

My GPA is 3.7 and going up (yeah)

Our apps are due by Feb. 15th

Plan B is the EMT/Paramedic program while I wait to reapply if I don't make it on the first try. Fingers are crossed though.

Good luck to everyone who is getting ready to apply!!

Hey come on guys, there has to be more than two of us!!!

Thank you so much for starting this thread!

Applying to San Diego State University. My prerequesite GPA is 3.8. The San Diego State's points system is based out of 77 points possible, and I got 73 (I believe the cut-off is 64-65 points). I will be applying October 1st, and the deadline is Nov. 31st. However, I won't know whether I get in or not until January-March.

My plan B and C are private universities somewhere in this area. Hang in there...it's just one year away.... Good luck everyone!

Hi Everyone!

I am starting my pre-reqs this fall ( in 4 weeks!!) I am taking my pre-health science nursing certificate (1yr) and will be applying for BScN program in the fall of '09.

I am attending St. Clair College/University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada

Soooo excited to get started.

:smackingfI forgot to answer the questions myself!

Where are you applying?

FCCJ! My first and only choice! Highest pass rates in the area.

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?

I can't calculate my points until I take the entrance exam next semester. But the cut-off is usually around 185 points. As long as I do pretty well on the nursing aptitude test, I should be in the 190-200 range.

When is your schools deadline?

Good question... not until the Summer sometime. It varies.

When does the acceptance letters go out?

6 weeks after the deadline.

What is your plan A, B, C...?

Hmm... I don't have one. I will most likely try to be a Radiology Tech at the same school. If I can't get into that I will try LPN at the same school because after a year of work as an LPN I will get more points on my RN application. But I will most likely get in on the first or second time applying.

I am finishing up my pre-reqs this fall and winter.

I have a 3.97 GPA right now

I am going to go to Wayne State University in Mi.

I don't have a second choice I am begging god to let me in here. :chuckle

GOOD LUCK to EVERYONE

Kimberly

I am beginning my 6 pre-req classes next week by first taking Anatomy and Phys. I. I am seeking a second degree. Don't know anything about points and where I am on that realm. Should I make an appt. and talk with someone of the schools where I am hoping to get accepted. Ga. State, Clayton State or Emory (all in the Atlanta area). I am planning/hoping to begin a Fall '09 program. Thanks for beginning this thread!!!! Lisa

Well it looks like I may be in this class instead of the spring 09.

Where are you applying? Roane State Comm College/TN RODP online AASN program

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? Overall 3.5 but for the classes that count 3.25. I'm not sure where I stand as far as points go or if my school even uses that system.

When is your schools deadline? Feb 1st

When does the acceptance letters go out? May

What is your plan A, B, C...?

This is plan B. Plan C was actually plan A at one point. I will apply for every nursing program in the Knoxville area because by that point I will be able to take them on campus instead of online.

Hi everyone, great thread! I am *hoping* to be accepted into nursing school in the fall of 09 too. I will be going to Northern Virginia Community College. I'm starting my pre-req's this fall...actually it's like 3 weeks away! It's starting to feel a little more real now.

I'm not sure about my GPA yet. As for deadlines, I believe the deadline for fall 09 is next June.

I really don't have a plan B so I'm praying that I will get in, otherwise I will be waiting another year. :(

Just out of curiosity, when will you all take the NET or have you already? I'm kind of confused as to when I should take it. Thanks!

OK I'll bite...

Where are you applying? Gateway community college, Bridgeport Hospital School of nursing are tied for 1st choice options

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? 3.41 hoping these 3 classes will give me a boost and possibly a intersession class.

When is your schools deadline? Feb 1st

When does the acceptance letters go out? By May 1st I believe

What is your plan A, B, C...?

B. St Vincents

C. Apply in New York and MA

D. LPN

AHHHHH! So nervous and excited!

Applying to Charity School of Nursing and Lousiana State University's CARE program (accelerated BSN).

My pre-req GPA is currently a 4.0! I am so proud and worked my backside off! It will probably be slighly lower when they factor in a few classes from my frist Bachelor's Degree.

App for Charity is due August 31st (mine's already in the mail) and LSU is due Feb. 15th.

Acceptance letters for Charity go out around Christmas time, LSU goes out usually sometime in May.

Plan B is just to keep on trying!

Thanks so much for starting this thread!

Where are you applying? University of Detroit Mercy (1st choice), and basically every other BSN nursing program in Michigan lol

What is your GPA? So far, I have a 3.94 and I'm praying :bowingpur that'll hold through A&P, MicroBio, and Chem. 102

Whats your school deadline: Beginning of August (don't know exact date for UDM), and I will have to check for all the others

I don't honestly know when the acceptance letter go out, not even for UDM. But I WILL find out lol! I figure UDM's letters will have to go out by the 1st of September.

Plan A,B,C? Well, I moved half away across the country to go to UDM (though in all honestly w/ out a 4.0 GPA I had no chance for Nursing School in my home state of WA) so I'm really hoping and praying that I get into some BSN program, preferably UDM, b/c I have a scholarship there. So, I guess plan B would be to apply again while I complete some core courses and get Health worker experience as an CNA. Plan C: Try to get into an LPN program and then work my way up to BSN. Plan D: lol, I don't want to go there yet! I really want to be a nurse and I just hope things work out! :nurse: :)
