Okay... so I totally hijacked the Spring 09 hopefuls thread. But, it was a good idea.;)

This thread is for those of us that are aiming to start NS in Fall 09. Hopefully, we can keep this thread alive over the next year through all the craziness of pre-reqs, applying, and preparing for nursing school.

Where are you applying? University of Detroit Mercy (1st choice), and basically every other BSN nursing program in Michigan lol

What is your GPA? So far, I have a 3.94 and I'm praying :bowingpur that'll hold through A&P, MicroBio, and Chem. 102

Whats your school deadline: Beginning of August (don't know exact date for UDM), and I will have to check for all the others

I don't honestly know when the acceptance letter go out, not even for UDM. But I WILL find out lol! I figure UDM's letters will have to go out by the 1st of September.

Plan A,B,C? Well, I moved half away across the country to go to UDM (though in all honestly w/ out a 4.0 GPA I had no chance for Nursing School in my home state of WA) so I'm really hoping and praying that I get into some BSN program, preferably UDM, b/c I have a scholarship there. So, I guess plan B would be to apply again while I complete some core courses and get Health worker experience as an CNA. Plan C: Try to get into an LPN program and then work my way up to BSN. Plan D: lol, I don't want to go there yet! I really want to be a nurse and I just hope things work out! :nurse: :)

I am kind of between both so I will post over here as well :)

Where are you applying? Loyola ABSN (May start), Rush GEM (July start), UIC BSN (Sept start), Loyola BSN (Sept start)

Also applying to UIC GEP (Jan 2010 start)

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? cum 3.2 (thanks to failing grades 13 yrs ago...ugh :banghead:), science 3.7

When is your schools deadline? application are not out yet so I do not know yet :)

When does the acceptance letters go out? Most of them have said March to April.

What is your plan A, B, C...? I am also applying to a few other programs in the area for Spring. If I do not get in, then I will talk to them to see what I can do to better my chances at admission. I am also currently in the process of going through to get Academic Withdrawl for two of my failing semesters (the worst two which have the most failing grades), and if I am successful then my GPA would increase significantly. I am also going to re-take the GRE.

I already have a Bachelor's degree in another subject, so I'm attending an accelerated BSN program at Research College of Nursing in Fall '09. I've already been provisionally accepted (yay!) which will become formal after I turn in one more hard science grade. Plenty to choose from after this semetser since I'm taking Micro, A&P and Molecular Cell Biology. No Plan B, so Plan A had better work! :-)

Well, I have a BS degree, so 19 of my credits transferred over. So far I've taken a biology class and got an A, so I have a 4.0.

When is your schools deadline?

I believe it's in March 2009

When does the acceptance letters go out?

I have no idea.

I'm a fall '09 hopeful, too! I'm looking at schools in the Sprinfield, MO area. I haven't picked one out yet. To get into one, I have to take a science class like chem or A&P this semester, so I have to get a move on! Their deadline for fall is Jan 15, and I am lacking ONE science class to apply!!!!! If I'd taken a decent class, instead of intro bio in my undergrad, I could apply now for spring. Oh well. lol

My GPA from my other undergrad degree is 3.94.

Plan B? Community college. Their deadline is April, I think, so if I don't get into the first, I can apply there.

It's just tough to decide. I was told that all the programs in Springfield are good, so it's a matter of where I can get the best financial aid package.

I also have my day job to fall back on, if none of this pans out.

I plan to apply as many places as I can. I want to apply to the University of Washington, Pacific Lutheran University, etc (BSN programs). I will also apply to ADN programs at the CC's around here, and for good measure I thought I'd toss a couple of applications back home in Texas (where I am originally from and have family connections and ties still), such as UT Austin and San Antonio.

Highline CC (where I am going now) does points system and recently changed it up a little, administering the TEAS test rather than the proctored essay. My current GPA is a 3.9 for my pre reqs.

My hope is that if I apply enough places, *someone* will accept me! lol

Well, I guess I fit here! I'm applying for Fall of 2009! I am applying to Athens Tech and Gwinnett Tech in GA. Athens Tech deadline is Feb.. I took my A&P's in a few years ago, along with Micro, all for Dental Hygiene, so I don't need them for the credit but plan on taking them over because I feel like I need them for my brain! I graduated in 2000 with an AS in Dental Hygiene so plan B will be to work as a hygienist until I get in, eventually, hopefully! I also have to work on my GPA, 3.0, shhhhhhh!!! I am currently trying to sign up to take the NLN.

I'm applying to a second-degree accelerated program for those who have a previous bachelor's in another field. I'm so excited to have finally discovered what I want to do when I grow up!:D

Where are you applying? Texas Tech Health Sciences Center

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? 3.9 in previous BS (Child Development), and 4.0 (so far:specs:) in pre-req's. Requirement for TTUHSC is 3.0, I think.

When is your schools deadline? June 1

When does the acceptance letters go out? Hopefully very soon after June 1...seems kind of late for a fall admission. Applications open March 1, so I'll be sure to get mine in early!

What is your plan A, B, C...? Ooops...am I supposed to have one of those? Plan B is to cry if I don't get in!:cry:

Where are you applying? Tidewater Community College

What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice? Well my current GPA from my other schools is 3.6 for both. I have an Associate's (but only in General Studies), then I went to Virginia Tech for a year, and I left there to do this program.... I am so nervous I won't be accepted!!!

When is your schools deadline? May 15, 2009. I can't even apply until the week prior because I have to COMPLETE A&P before applying. New rule this year. LAME! But those are basically the only classes I have to take this year because I have any other pre-reqs from my previous years. So hopefully I'll be able to really focus!

When does the acceptance letters go out? From what I've read from other people, it seems like people get them (when applying when I will be) is beginning of July sometime.

What is your plan A, B, C...? Oh lordy, I do not have another plan! I have no idea what I will do if I don't get in... Just work for another year I guess and try to get in the next year... ugh, I am praying that doesn't happen.
