  1. I am so glad you asked this because I've had the same question! I took both as a split session in 1997 and need to update them now. I don't think itd be easy but I think its do able!
  2. Tommorrow is the day I go for advisement and registration at a new school! I have all of my pre req's from my previous degree but I need to retake my A&P's because it's been over 7 years since I took them. I of course have a plan in my head, and on about 10 notepads around the house, that I will take A&PI this semester, and then apply to 3 nursing programs, with the understanding that my 2nd A&P will be next semester, but all will be finished before starting the nursing program. My fear is, since I am a new student at this particular college, I have to register after the returning students, and what if there is no slot for A&PI????!!!!! They have it set up where I can take the class online and go to lab at night or on Saturday, so I'm praying it works. BUT, if there are no more slots, would it be best to take some random class so that next semester I won't be classified as a "new" student and I can register early? It may seem like a dumb question but it's a lot of money, although it would help to take some really easy class to raise my GPA! CONFUSED?!
  3. When I was in Dental Hygiene school, I was 26 while most of my classmates were right out of high school. There was one lady older than me, she never would say how much, but one semester there was a thing called the "Hinman" scholarship. It was awarded by teachers to 3 students that they felt deserving and basically paid for 2 semsters of school, except books. I got one spot and she got the other. I think our "non traditionalism" shows dedication. If I were you, I'd apply to EVERYTHING! You just never know! Good luck!
  4. Well, I guess I fit here! I'm applying for Fall of 2009! I am applying to Athens Tech and Gwinnett Tech in GA. Athens Tech deadline is Feb.. I took my A&P's in a few years ago, along with Micro, all for Dental Hygiene, so I don't need them for the credit but plan on taking them over because I feel like I need them for my brain! I graduated in 2000 with an AS in Dental Hygiene so plan B will be to work as a hygienist until I get in, eventually, hopefully! I also have to work on my GPA, 3.0, shhhhhhh!!! I am currently trying to sign up to take the NLN.
  5. Hi, I am brand new to allnurses! I graduated from Dental Hygiene school in 2000. I always thought I would go to nursing school but chose hygiene because of the pay and hours. BUT NOW, after all these years, I still have the "itch" to go so I think I'm gonna do it. I have 3 kids and wonderful supportive husband. I have all my pre req's but I plan on taking A&P's and micro again to hopefully get a better grade. Is anyone else here applying to Athens Tech?
