Exciting week

Published

It's bound to be an exciting week here... I'm in the suburbs of Chicago and the Cubs are in the World Series. I'm anticipating small scale riots in the halls and students who are tired from staying up to watch the games.

BUT this is a little slice of history! I come from a family of White Sox fans but I am super happy for all the Cubs fans! The city is celebrating (peacefully, I might add) and there's so much cool stuff to see!

Go Indians!!

My best friend is a huge Cubs fan and her dad grew up outside Cleveland... This battle is rivaling their political debates.

Go Indians!!

BOOOOOO!

I am a Mets fan, gotta go with the Cubs! How can you not? Oh my God. I really hope they win.

I am pretty much dead right now to a few family members and friends who can't fathom why I would remain a loyal Indians fan when I am from Illinois. Lol.

Far, you've got to be one of the only others Mets fans out there! I've loved the Mets since Mike Piazza came over from the Dodgers! (well, technically the Marlins, but a week doesn't count)

oh, i like the Mets too, for as much as I follow baseball. I'd speak of my fond memories of the 86 Mets, but then i'd be giving away too much about my age ;)

I wish I could get excited with you all. But the only baseball that interests me is watching my son play in the summer.

I'm from NJ originally and my dad and 2 of my brothers are die-hard Mets fans. My mom was born and raised in New England and a Red Sox fan. I became a Red Sox fan when I moved to MA. We support each other unless it is inter-league play or if we get to that final showdown...

Ouchie, that brings back a sad memory for us Red Sox fans....

My Dad was a Cubs fan his entire life, although he seldom saw a win. If he were here today, he would be telling all who could hear that he was RIGHT! :singing:

We are Cardinals fans at my house.. But this year we are rooting for the Cubs. Too bad I can't safely admit that in public LOL

I am torn. I am a die-hard Red Sox fan. My family is originally from New England, but my dad was in the military, so I never lived here for an extended amount of time when I was younger. But we have always rooted for the Red Sox wherever we lived. I did live in Cleveland for 10 years, and when I am not cheering for the Red Sox, I am cheering for the Indians. And when I am not cheering for either of those teams, I like the Cubs.

So I'm cheering for the Indians, but if the Cubs win, I will be excited and happy for them as well.

It has been really fun watching all of my Cleveland friends get into this series. So GO TRIBE!!! And also go Cubbies!

My dad was a life long White Sox fan. When the Cubs were in the play offs in 2008 he called me and said "God help me, T. I'm rooting for the Cubs tonight" I assured him the lord would be forgiving. He passed away a year and a half ago, but I know that if he was here, he would be happy for the Cubs. Not "wearing a Cubs shirt" happy, but happy.

Now some White Sox fans are getting all up in arms since a lot of news channels have been reporting that Chicago has not seen a World Series in 71 years... despite the White Sox winning it in 2005. South Side is forgotten.
