Exciting week

It's bound to be an exciting week here... I'm in the suburbs of Chicago and the Cubs are in the World Series. I'm anticipating small scale riots in the halls and students who are tired from staying up to watch the games.

BUT this is a little slice of history! I come from a family of White Sox fans but I am super happy for all the Cubs fans! The city is celebrating (peacefully, I might add) and there's so much cool stuff to see!

I live in Red Sox nation, so all I'm hearing from everyone out here is that there is a former Red Sox GM who is responsible for their success. Because apparently the players aren't involved. :sarcastic: I'm from Illinois and grew up a huge White Sox fan. But I can't really root for the Cubs because I'm also an Indians fan. But whoever wins, I'll be glad for everyone!!! Enjoy the week! It's always exciting when it's the home team!

I am Forever Royal. But, I have ALOT of family around the Quad City area, and a couple other family members are Cubs fans. Sooooo, I am super happy for the Cubs...since I am not still cheering for the Royals. I hope you are all able to celebrate and keep the halls of education peaceful. :)

Yup. Epstein has made his mark. I'm in NH and people here are pretty much all about the Cubs, too. I'm always the holdout!

Cubs fans are widespread- people like to root for an underdog! My sister and a good friend were outside Wrigley Field a little bit after they won on Saturday night. It was wall to wall people. Some of the police radio chatter was tweeted- things like "We have lost control" "there are no barriers" and "we need horses"

I dont' have a way to watch the game at home, but I was checking the score and when I realized that they were really going to win, I got the kids in the car and went to a bar/grille to watch the win. The place exploded and it was awesome!

Same. I've been in MA for a long enough time to be here when they won in 2004. I didn't live far from Fenway at the time and it was awesome and insane at the same time! You couldn't help but feel the excitement. Red Sox fans know the pain and everyone I know is supporting the Cubs.

The kids are going to be off the walls if they win the next day :).

My sister (big White Sox fan) was going to school in Boston when the White Sox swept the Red Sox in 2005... she was the least popular person at the bar that night :)

I had just moved here the year the White Sox won! I was definitely alone in my joy!

My best friend is a huge Cubs fan and her dad grew up outside Cleveland... This battle is rivaling their political debates.
