I wasn't feeling right over the past weekend with headaches and blurred vision in my left eye. I have had migraines before so figured "This too shall pass" but on Tuesday I woke with no vision in my left eye. I went to ER and was sent to an ocular specialist who diagnosed a detached retina and referred me for surgery which I had on Wednesday due to not being NPO on Tuesday. Right now, I am basically blind in my left eye and time will tell how much vision I get back. I'm off work while I recover from surgery.

Believe me I have learned my lesson. Had my one week post-op appointment and retina repair is intact. Vision still sucks but that's the gas bubble in my eye. Once that goes away we will know more . Thanks for the warm thoughts.

Do you have help for getting food, doing laundry, etc.?
My husband and son (grown) have been very supportive and I was told I can drive cause according to California law you only need one good eye to drive and my good eye is 20/20. Garden is full of yummy vegetals and fridge is full.

Wishing you a quick recovery and healing. It must be hard to be prone all the time.
