I went to a co-workers party, she had a hall, DJ, Karaoke, etc, and lots of booze. I found out that another co-worker turns in to a trailer trash crazy woman when exposed to too much alcohol. It was a bad scene and there is continuing drama occurring.
I normally don't attend parties. I was the soberest person there, I think, although I did loosen up enough to show off my lousy dancing.
So, a word to the wise: Don't go to drinking parties with co-workers!!!
Reread my comment. No, 'White Trash' is politically incorrect. Trailer trash is a commonly used euphemism for an uncouth, low brow white person, the type that gets into fights in bars and has mean dogs who bite people.
"No, 'White Trash' is politically incorrect." This your comment.
I am white . I have a dog that will bite you when I tell her to. She is not mean, and neither am I. She is just a good dog. If she bites you.. it means I do not have to rack my Glock.

we probably shouldn't hang out outside of work. I don't like to socialize with drama queens. I prefer my co workers non-judgemental to harmless fun.
Two of my colleagues married each other about 10 years ago. As they both were longtime employees of the facility, their wedding was attended by many co-workers from many different departments in the hospital, including some nurse managers and administrators. There was a champagne fountain and an open bar, the alcohol was flowing, and there were 3 RNs who took over the dance floor with suggestive and sexually vulgar dance moves. Two of the nurses were married, but had no reservations about grinding on the male guests. Needless to say, word of their drunken behavior went around the hospital for months. One of the nurses confided in me that she deeply regretted having too much to drink and embarrassing herself at her friend's wedding. The lesson I learned? Don't have too much to drink when colleagues are around, even if it's a festive, fun occasion.
I agree...... I was at a work holiday party, the liquor was freely flowing (but none for me; I was driving), and about 300 people watched while two co-workers did a bump-and-grind grind grind to George Clinton's "Atomic Dog".

My work friends and I must be really boring. Because all we do is drink wine, eat dinner, socialize, maybe dance like folks did in the 1970's. :)
I brought this thread up during our IDT meeting today and everyone cracked up. You all should come to our get-togethers.

I know one worker at a doctor's office who went to a client's Christmas party, got drunk and called her own employer the B-word in front of the entire company. The host complained to her employer about the worker's misbehavior and the worker lost her job.
The DON of a small hospital I worked for threw a Chistmas party. One of the nurses got drunk and jumped into the pool. Although, DON announced what happens here stays here, the next day, the entire hospital was gossiping about the incident. It totally ruined the lady's reputation and chances for advancement. Always keep work and fun separate. If you want to 'relax' and party with co-workers, do so at private parties, not official events.
