Don't go to co-workers' parties where drinking is occurring

I went to a co-workers party, she had a hall, DJ, Karaoke, etc, and lots of booze. I found out that another co-worker turns in to a trailer trash crazy woman when exposed to too much alcohol. It was a bad scene and there is continuing drama occurring.

I normally don't attend parties. I was the soberest person there, I think, although I did loosen up enough to show off my lousy dancing.

So, a word to the wise: Don't go to drinking parties with co-workers!!!

Two of my colleagues married each other about 10 years ago. As they both were longtime employees of the facility, their wedding was attended by many co-workers from many different departments in the hospital, including some nurse managers and administrators. There was a champagne fountain and an open bar, the alcohol was flowing, and there were 3 RNs who took over the dance floor with suggestive and sexually vulgar dance moves. Two of the nurses were married, but had no reservations about grinding on the male guests. Needless to say, word of their drunken behavior went around the hospital for months. One of the nurses confided in me that she deeply regretted having too much to drink and embarrassing herself at her friend's wedding. The lesson I learned? Don't have too much to drink when colleagues are around, even if it's a festive, fun occasion.

There is a fine line being cutting loose and having fun and totally embarrassing yourself and everyone around you. I have no problem going out with my work friends after a shift and getting a little tanked, we all go a little crazy and have a great time, but those situations are reserved for going out with people I consider friends.

Crossing that line from fun to trashy though is no good. People still talk about the nurse that got tanked at a company Christmas party and was coming on to the [married] DON so aggressively that he finally gave up and left the party. She crossed the line from fun to oh my GOD, this is embarrassing to watch so completely that it still comes up in conversations 2 years later. Frankly it was so bad that the DON would have had a good sexual discrimination case if he'd wanted to pursue it. I do still wonder though how much more of a train wreck it could've been to watch if the DON's wife had come to that party too.

I drink only once in a blue moon but when I do I notice that it doesn't really affect me.........(falls face first on the floor)

Regarding the trailer trash descriptor, I thought that was the nicer way of saying 'White Trash'. I don't think it means all residents of trailers are trashy.

Since I'm boring and just stay at home tell us about the continuing drama part.
