Do you sign "RN' after your name OUTSIDE of the hospital?

For example, this one nurse told me she signs RN next to everything she signs now - eve check- which is so retarded and no warranted for in my book. your thoughts?

if it becomes the case of showing your licneses' off, then can you imagine howit becomes when the buildling contractor want to list all of his qualifications after his name and so on? :)

I don't but not sure if I ever did it by accident and didn't catch it. lol

I don't. I have done it once by accident when I was signing a check. :)

On accident, on occasion. Once on purpose, when I wrote a letter to my landlord shaming him for trying to screw me - sort of as an extra dig, like, I'm a NURSE, don't be mean to me, because nurses are awesome!

Yeah, it was a little immature, but it felt good.

I do it a lot.. but not intentionally, it is fairly illegible however so I don't think most notice.

It meant a lot to me when I finally became a RN. Maybe the nurse mentioned in the OP feels the same way. I'm on the side of not judging her for doing so.

...And nurses are awesome. ;)

No judgment here BBFRN. :D I do remember that feeling when I first became a nurse. :anpom:

I sure have-employee # an all............I work nights (5-6 a week between both jobs) and do my grocery shopping/bills at random times.

I would never do it deliberatly but yes, I've accidently done it a few times. LOL

My kids started to do the same until I pointed out that they know and love some adults with mental disabilities. Rusty, who has Down's Syndrome. Ryan, who as a teen got drunk and walked onto the freeway and was struck by more than one car and lived to tell the tale but with enough deficits he needs to live in a group home. Ray, whose dad abandoned him under a bridge. Etc.

It just isn't a nice or kind word to use. That's all.

No, I just sign RN at work. Outside of the hospital, I want as few people as possible to know that I'm an RN, LOL. Ever see those T-shirts and license plate decorations that say RN on them? No way in hell I'd ever want one of those! That's just asking for aggravation.

One of our paramedics has a bumper sticker that says:

"Trolling for Trauma". :D

It's automatic to sign with an RN after our names, I think. Then there are the other credentials some have. Sometimes I think I might sign things Whispera, EIEIO (ahem) :lol2:
