Do you sign "RN' after your name OUTSIDE of the hospital?

Published

For example, this one nurse told me she signs RN next to everything she signs now - eve check- which is so retarded and no warranted for in my book. your thoughts?

if it becomes the case of showing your licneses' off, then can you imagine howit becomes when the buildling contractor want to list all of his qualifications after his name and so on? :)

Yeah I must admit I was ready to fire "RN" out of every writing utensil I used to signed my name with when I passed my boards, but then said....Nah!!! But I too have done it on accident.

Not on purpose. Sometimes after working 4-5 shifts in a row (12's at night) and signing my name on the mountains of paperwork I don't even think about it and when I'm writing out bills I do it. I always laugh when I realize I've done it and know it's time to take a nap!

I never do it. If I did it out of habit, then there are other initials that could follow my name as well. None to do with nursing

like many others i have by accident.after you do it for 12-16 hrs sometimes i don't catch myself saying rn on check for bills, etc.i don't see it as a big deal one way or the other.i earned the title rn but i don't sign it out of work on purpose.
