Yes and No. I like being a nurse, I like helping patients, I love learning new things, but I don't always like how nurses are treated by administration. Would I go through the schooling for nursing again?? I am not sure. Sorry I couldn't give you a straight answer.

No. But I regret some of the issues that challenge nursing today.

No. But as in any job, there are positives and negatives.

Agreed.
Of course I could complain about scheduling, office politics, benefits, retirement plans, etc. But that is true about MOST jobs!!!!!!!
As far as nursing itself goes, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I cannot imagine doing anything else with my life. I absolutely love working in the NICU. Just the other week I was caring for a 350 gram baby! There is so much responsiblity on your shoulders as a nurse, more than many people realize. But with that responsibility comes great pride in yourself.

Only on the nights when we have too many acutely ill patients for us to care for properly.
Thankfully, it only happens around flu season.

no i do not regret becoming a nurse or being one now. however, hindsight being what it is, there's no way i'd do it now. i agree with what others have said regarding administrative treatment of nurses. i have some serious concerns about how good nursing care will be in the not too distant future as nurses are spread thinner and thinner, required to be more of a computer whizz than a hands-on care giver and unlicensed personnel are given their tasks. it scares me.

i never regretted pursuing nsg.
and i would do repeat the entire experience over again, including nsg school.
all these challenges have shaped me into the nurse i am today.
i am extremely disappointed in how the nsg profession is viewed and treated. but i see that changing too. afterall, many of us are getting tired in how we are treated and are unwilling to tolerate the b.s. too much longer.
