Had a kid bring his wet, bloody tooth and plop it right on my desk.

C'mon now!

Or the kid that did running knee slide into my office.

C'mon now!

The ones old enough to cover their mouths but choose to cough right in your face instead.

All together: C'mon now!!

Some things just make me shake my head.

A teacher sent a student down to me today with a note that just said "rosy cheeks".

C'Mon now

Isn't that a description of Mary Poppins???

Yesterday a maintenance man came to figure out which key I needed to get into my office. (Which I had to beg for)

I was walking into the room with my diabetic girl and he was standing in the doorway. So like any polite person I asked "Can I help you?" Genuinely nice, not in a rude way.

He gives me the stink eye and said "No." Well... okay then.

He comes back in with the secretary a few minutes later to have me sign for the key and says, "Hmph, I guess she thought I was going to steal medicine or something, she didn't want me in her room."

Now, I was pretty grumpy yesterday so I only made it to two and a half before I said "No, I needed to treat my kiddo, and she has to raise up her shirt a bit, we like as much privacy as possible for that!"

He replied "Honey, *someone hold my earrings* I've been an EMT for 20 years, I've seen more stomachs than you ever will."

Well, BUD. Right now you are not an EMT, you are an maintenance man. And this is a school. This is a female child who probably isn't comfortable with an older man watching her raise her shirt so back off.

C'mon now. Hopefully I wont be as grumpy today.

I'm giving one of my everyday med kids their noon dose when he tells me "I took two of these this morning". I say "Oh, do you usually take two?" To which he replies "no, but yesterday was Valentines day and I told my dad I felt a little extra crazy today, so maybe I should take two" Sad part is, evidently, dad must have thought that was a reasonable thing to do :banghead:

2nd grade FF-"My stomach hurts. I went to the bathroom and that didn't help, so I made myself throw up, but that didn't help either"

I didn't even know what to say to that one...

Little Darling-"I need to talk to privately."

Me: Come on in.

LD: Do you have one of those test?

Me: (knowing full well what she is talking about, but just have to hear her say it) What kind of test?

LD: A pregnancy test.

Me: No. Aren't you on the shot?

LD: Yes, but I had unprotected sex 3-4 DAYS ago.

_______

(LD is same student who wanted to have lice.)

C'mon now...stepping up her game.

UPDATE---

Called LD in for V/H screening. Asked student if she went to the dr. and she said, "yes" (sad).

Me: What did they do?

LD: Took blood.

ME: When will they let you know?

LD: (very rejected and sad) I'm not.

(Inside I am doing my happy dance. At the same time I'm scared because she wants to be pregnant and probably will be before she graduates next year.)

Yikes.

I just love it when teacher's make diagnosis and they are way off!!

On pass "severe migraine."

No history of migraine, no nausea, no sensitivity to light or noise, no aura, no vision problems, etc, etc. Mild stuffy nose, no breakfast.

After hydration, crackers, blowing his nose and resting on cot 15 minutes, he jumps up and says "I am fine, can I go back to class."

Wow, so proud of myself. I have discovered "THE CURE FOR SEVERE MIGRAINES."

C'MON NOW!

I wish they could all be cured that way! I would do that for all my migraine kids.
