Best lotion for dry hands?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone uses any hand moisturizers that are really good. I am using vaseline intensive care and it just isn't doing the trick, as my hands are very dry and cracked, it feels really good when I use the hand gel on rare occasion.

Any recommendations would be great!

PS: especially in winter, when dry skin is a real problem, a good idea is to put something like cocoa butter, Eucerin, Lubraderm, Aveeno or another really good moisturizer on your hands and feet and wear gloves and socks over it, to bed. This really does a lot for dry, sore skin and if you do it regularly, your dryness will definitely improve. I also agree, udder cream is great, so is bag balm. But I don't like how they smell. If I don't like how a cream smells, I just won't use it. My mom, who has extremely dry skin and allergies, swears by bag balm.

I also love almond oil. I get it at a place where they sell essential oils and aroma-therapy. It is amazing stuff. So moisturizing.

Does anyone know if they still make Corn Huskers' lotion? I remember my mom using it on her dry feet and it worked so very well.

I work from home. Don't need no "stinkin" hand lotion.

( sorry had to do it). Was just called out on my "generation" on another thread.:yeah:

I did just have some old lady skin tags removed.. Aquaphor was the prescribed ointment post procedure.

I have chronic eczema and probably always will as long as I'm at the bedside, at least according to my dermatologist. I'm also kind of allergic and a lot of lotions just make my eczema worse. I have been a fan of Eucerin, gold bond (the one a PP mentioned) & Aquaphor but they can be greasy, that's the breaks for us with hideous skin.

The newest coolest lotion per my dermatologist is Cereve. I use the face ones for my face and the hand lotion isn't too greasy, isn't perfumy, and doesn't sting or aggravate my skin.

I have some great prescription stuff too but that would probably get tagged by the mods as "medical advice". Let's just say those cotton gloves over any kind of lotion really helps them soak in and be more effective, and for double strength when I have certain fingers really broken out, wrapping them in cellophane then gloves really helps.

Bag Balm forever!! It's the only thing that helps my hands in the winter time. Before I started using it, my hands were so red and irritated that patients and co-workers constantly asked what was wrong with them, so it definitely makes a huge difference. :)

I really like Aveeno, and I'll slather on some coconut oil when at home.

My new favorite is something I mix myself. It's 1 part each of Vaseline & vitamin E cream and 2 parts baby lotion. You mix them to the consistency of frosting. It healed my cracked hands in less than 24 hours & is keeping them crack-free & soft. (Also great for feet!)

I use Jack black hand healer or urth dry hand rescue, just depends on my mood lol, both work really well though! Cuticles haven't looked this good in a while.

Aveeno! Scent free and non-slippery!

I've been putting some Argan oil cream on my hands, arms, and legs. My skin gets really flaky, and this works nicely. You don't need much to do the trick.

Ther derms. I've seen all recommended Aquaphor, and that worked well for me, too.

I love Carmex lotion. It can be a bit tough to find, but it's amazing stuff.
