Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone uses any hand moisturizers that are really good. I am using vaseline intensive care and it just isn't doing the trick, as my hands are very dry and cracked, it feels really good when I use the hand gel on rare occasion.

Any recommendations would be great!

This may not be ideal while at work because it is a bit oily, but have you ever tried organic coconut oil? Maybe you could use it at night when you are at home? Just get a glass jar and add 2 tablespoons to the jar and mix it up with a spoon to help it dissolve if it is in a solid form. Add a drop of your favorite essential oil for a wonderful and relaxing scent. Coconut oil is a natural antifungal and can be ingested ( I cook with it) and used all over your body. So many lotions have toxic ingredients that are not safe. Coconut oil is totally safe and very effective on dry skin. I hope this helps.

something else my dad swears by is regular olive oil. He puts it in a bath in the winter for horrendously dry legs

During the day: Avon Silicone Glove, the old formula if you can find it.

At night the same thing our grandmothers did: before bed slather on any good lotion or cream, more greasy the better and slip on a pair of white cotton gloves. You can find "sleep gloves" still in some old stores on even online such as eBay. Personally just use any old fashioned white gloves (hint; raid your grandmother's or older aunt's drawers or other stash. *LOL*)

Didn't read through all the posts, but did anyone mention sugar scrub? Put some white sugar and oil (almond or sesame are great) into an old cosmetic jar. Scoop out some of this on your dry hands and rub them together like you are washing them. Then rinse your hands under running water. Your hands will be soft and smooth with no oily residue. They will feel great. You can also put some essential oil into the mixture for added aromatherapy. Lavender is very soothing.
