anyone actually get good grades in nursing school?

Published

hi everyone. im new to the board. ive just started reading people's posts a few days ago, and im starting to get really nervous about nursing school. im (hopefully) starting a bsn program in the fall, and i expect to do quite a bit of studying, but it seems like everyone is saying that no matter how much you study you will still probably not get very good grades. I was just wondering if anyone out there actually does get ok grades, or should i just expect to get c's? :confused: :uhoh21:

Don't worry about that discouraging message sweetie. I made flash cards and when I went to bed, I'd study them until I fell asleep.

If you really love nursing, even if you don't get high grades. What matters is that you are able to pass the courses and your NCLEX. After that, when you get your job, you'll aclimate to the job okay. And the longer you are in your position, the easier it will become for you. I wish you success.

I had an A every semester. Don't set yourself up to not get A's. If you are normally an A student and know how to study well, you can still get A's. It will take work, but it can be done. Good luck!

I have managed to keep a 3.5 GPA. Its been hard work though. I have gotten a couple of Bs. It was hard t accept at first. But nursing school is hard and I am proud of my GPA.

Graduated with a 3.8 gpa.

Did it as a non-traditional older student (37 at the time) with a full time job, a husband, 2 daughters, 2 doggies, 2 kitties and a sick father-in-law that I took care of.

i graduated with a 4.0... my lowest class average was a 93. it was alot of hard work and i worked full time while in nursing school.... i drove myself and my family beyond crazy. i just put myself in the mindset that i would not settle for anything less than an A. i also prayed alot before a test. :)

look at me, look at me. I got As!

this thread does not serve any point other than to brag

So far I have an A average.. But just remember...

C=RN :D

B average here! C=Failure in my program. Must maintain an 80+ average.

We must have a 78 to pass and in order to get an A you must have 94 or better. I believe there are quite a few students in my class close to getting A's, more than what I had expected. Then again there are quite a few barely hanging on with 78's or 79's.

A's here too. As someone else mentioned, C in my school = failing.

It takes a lot of hard work, but it can be done!

Define "good". I was an honor student before nursing school and now have been consistently making B's. I was really close to an A in one of my classes last module but not close enough. I am striving for an A in both classes this module but will be more than satisfied with B's again. There are a few in my class who have A's and are exceptional students and a handful of those are also very good in clinical as well as classroom. Many more are in my grade range but the majority are hanging on with C's. It is not impossible to get good grades in nursing school but it's a lot harder than in other classes.
