hi everyone. im new to the board. ive just started reading people's posts a few days ago, and im starting to get really nervous about nursing school. im (hopefully) starting a bsn program in the fall, and i expect to do quite a bit of studying, but it seems like everyone is saying that no matter how much you study you will still probably not get very good grades. I was just wondering if anyone out there actually does get ok grades, or should i just expect to get c's? :uhoh21:
It does not matter if you have all As in Nursing School. There are several booksmart nurses out there that do not know how to apply it in the clinical field. I have seen many put stress on themselves trying to get that A. The only thing I care about is passing and getting out of there. When you go to a job interview they are not going to ask what you got on that cadiac test.
I already had a college degree in business with a GPA of 3.96 when I started NS, but now I dont even look at my GPA because I would just beat myself up over it. I average Bs in Nursing, but for me its difficult to get that grade. But the most important thing is that I am still in the game and excited about having only one more semester! YAH :)

I think it really depends on what school and program you are in. Obviously they are not all easy peasy, otherwise there would (hopefully) more nurse out there. I am currently in an LPN program with a bridge program to RN as an option at our school. Everyone knows that this particular LPN program is harder and more rigorous than the RN program at our school. Another important thing to consider, at our school they have a higher grading scale, so 84% or lower is a C. One of our teachers put it this way... C=LPN. I study hard and put in the work, but don't always get the good grades. My goal right now is to become a good, competent nurse, not the valedictorian.
