Good morning everyone!
Im currently in a ADN RN program and I have a strong interest in getting my BSN as soon as Im done here. Im thinking of doing the online thing. I don't particularly care for online classes, but Ive taken them and earned decent grades. What Im worried about is stats. I dont have the strongest math skills and I wanted to ask you all what experiences you had with this class, if you have taken it online.
Thanks.

Hi!
I did mine online through CCConline. It was a pretty easy class, as far as math classes go. I was able to relate much of it to real life, so that made it easier to understand. I had the hardest time with probability (5 red balls and 1 black...what's the probability of pulling out the black, etc) but the rest of it was a snap because all you have to know is what formula to use, and when.
Good luck!!

I took it online--the only time I had to go in person was for the final exam. The class was all right. I liked being able to do it online and take it at my own pace since some parts of statistics kept tripping me up--I needed the extra time to get through them.

I took mine online through my local cc....it was easy to follow, we had a good book. Assignments each week and a semester long project. Only math class I ever got an A in!

I took it online while waiting to get into the ADN program and it wasn't too bad- I got an A!
I really appreciated that the instructor had multimedia tutorials available to us- we could watch her work problems online, we could work our own problems in MyMathLab and we could watch/listen to her regular class lectures if we needed more info than was given in the book.
It was very manageable time-wise. I spent a couple hours each Saturday working problems and finishing homework. I think we had three tests on campus including the final. My professor was notorious for being a ball-buster but it was an overall good experience.

I took Stats as a hybrid course. Went into class 2 hours per week and the rest was on line. As another poster stated... it was the only math class I ever got an A in! I could easily relate it to everyday life. Homework was through MyMathLab. My prof has excellent video tutorials for the calculator functions. We also learned a lot of it the "long" way. :) I actually enjoyed Stats! Algebra? Not so much!

I did self-paced online Stats just this last summer as a prerequisite for grad school (I had never taken it as I had Calc I&II and diff eq). I thought it was quite easy, and somewhat fun as far as math goes. Like others said, easily relatable. I would say if your math skills are above average and you are able to focus without direct class time, it's definitely doable.

I took it online - LOVED it. Easy A. :) If you are ok with math, and have taken an online class before - it's definitely a better option than going to campus. :)

stats is weird, its not like other math classes.. i find non-math people tend to like stats, im a pretty math-y person, and i personally hated it. ended up getting a D my first time around (took it online), mainly because i just disliked it and it was really hard to focus with no deadlines and stuff, i fell behind. ughh.

I also took it online..and I somehow earned a B. Math is also not my strong suit, and while it is different from the usual math, it is still math and needing to know when to use the appropriate formula or table. Our online class provided instructional videos, but after awhile the guy's voice starting putting me to sleep, and I found Khan Academy's videos to be more helpful. I might have gotten an A if I were allowed to take the tests at home rather than the testing center ; there was one test midway through that nothing on that test looked familiar. I did get an F on one exam, but luckily she dropped the lowest. That certainly saved me! Anyway, the moral of the story is, it certainly is doable, or else it probably wouldn't be offered!
