Best end of year complaint

I know we've had these threads before... but we are getting as restless as the kiddos and we need a laugh.

Share your best "Are you freaking kidding me, Kid?!?!" complaint (from anytime, I just notice they become more off the wall the closer we are to summer or another break)... and let's all remember that another adult (teacher) had to clear these kids to come see us first...)

My two best ones came from the same fifth grade student a couple days apart.

Student: My earlobes feel squishy

Me: ...ok. Did you hurt them in some way?

Student: Nope. Just feel squishy

Me: That's not really an issue. Head back to class.

Student: It feels like all my bones are turning to mush.

Me: Well, you walked in here ok, so I thing they'll be ok.

Student: *(giant eye roll)*

This post is great!!! I have lots of these and there seems to be no end in sight!! Ridiculous requests from teachers and some parents too! Here are a few that stand out....

Third grade student's complaint of sweaty armpits and yes, the teacher did let her come in for this! She begged for me to call mom so she can get a new shirt and even said mommy wouldn't mind.

Another third grade student (notice the trend!) was very upset, waving his thumb at me, screaming, "I'm bleeding!". No blood, it was red ink.

Preschool teacher assistant brought down a student because she wanted her checked to see if she had a tick on her arm. Looked like a tiny scab or possible splinter. She says, oh okay, well mom told us about it and said she thinks it's a splinter. We were just curious.

I have more but I am so behind on documenting all of this nonsense! Am I the only one behind a lot?!

I really need to know what happened at school that the step-parent felt the child needed a bath? Wow.

Not a school nurse here, but a nurse and mother to a first grader. My child had FIELD DAY yesterday and this poor child came into my car exhausted and stinking to high hell. Holy crap, child we are going home and hitting to shower BEFORE running any quick errands. I just hope the car doesn't still stink when we return. 96 degree heat, sun,and a PE field for almost 6 hours equals major ICK...but wow, I would never think that the school should wash her for me. That's just crazy

Had a student come in and as he began to start to tell us what was wrong just stopped himself, then said....."There is nothing wrong with me. I just want to go home. Will you please send me home?" My boss and I looked at each other stunned. She laughed and said, "yes, I will send you home for being honest." We had a history with this senior and he had come a long way for the good. It was toward the end of the year and poor thing had fluff off classes the rest of the day. He is and was one of my favorite kiddos.

I'm curious about the fact that this mother seems to think school have bathtubs.

For real! What school has a bath tub?!? I suppose I could run him through the rinse cycle on our washing machine. Ooooo or send him through the dish washer in the cafeteria?

I had a student who swallowed a staple and she's in 8th grade. Had to call mom and see what she wanted to do with her, said she was fine and to go back to class. Later I learned that she was spreading rumors that she was sent to the hospital and had surgery in under 15 minutes! xD

Junior highs and high schools have showers in the locker rooms... Maybe mom thought that was where snowflake should have cleaned up.

Student came in asking for an ice pack. When I asked why he showed me a small red circle on his forearm, which was there because he "was napping during math" and when he woke up it felt funny.

I asked if he told this to his teacher (he had a pass) and he said "yes, she said to come tell you"

We had field day today and our lovely PTO set up a water slide. They used baby shampoo to make it slicker when the kids slide down it. I sure hope that mother notices her little dear smells like baby shampoo when they get home. LOL! I could do a whole other rant on water slides at school but you all understand. Craziness!

Does that qualify for a bath at school??? :sarcastic:

Soap and water was involved, I say that is close enough right?
