Post your Fall 2013 grades!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone!

The semester is over & I am pleased to say .. I finally got that 4.0. All the ranting and raving I did about my history grade, and I actually came out with an A. The last grade I made before the final was a 70 and I had pretty much given up on getting an A in there. The professor gave us a chance to get extra credit. We had to write a 2 page paper, and it was worth up to 10 points. Since she told the class she wasn't going to grade it lightly, I pretty much gave up on that too, but I still completed the assignment and turned it in to be safe. Needed a 101 on the final to make an A, impossible. I honestly had stopped studying for the final. The night before the test I did absolutely nothing. Well, grades were posted. I made a 93 on the exam and got 8 out of 10 extra credit points which gave me exactly the 101 I needed! Yes.

So now, for grades:

AP1-A

AP1 Lab-A

Economics-A

World History-A

Lifespan Development-A

I'm so ecstatic. I literally haven't had straight A's since middle school (with the exception of the summer semester). This 4.0 gave my GPA a nice bump. I will be spending this winter break getting my nursing school application together so I can have it turned in before next semester starts.

How did you guys do? Post your grades! Did you do as well as you wanted to? If you didn't, what will you change so you will do better next semester?

My motivation wasn't really high this semester, because I'm just over these pre-reqs and ready to kick butt in my nursing classes. My grades are:

Chemistry-B

A&P II- B

Spanish- A-

Lab- B

Statistics- B+

African American culture- B

Specializes in Pediatrics.

API- A

APII- A (took them both as an eight credit 15 week course)

Comp II Honors - A

Survey in World Lit Honors - A

Spanish II - A

I also had mandatory co-curricular hours for the honors program I'm in, work as an LPN full time and also tutor on the side. I'm so exhausted. I may have kept my 4.0, but I definitely didn't get the most out of my education. Ugh, never again! I've learned my lesson!

I received an A in all of my classes. Some of the 'easy' ones had lots of challenges.

One's that seemed impossible to pass I was able to excel, fall hard, and struggle back.

One's that did not as well as they hoped, and received a 'b' or 'c' instead of what they wanted don't beat yourself up too much about it.

If you memorized 70 out of 100 axial muscles, and the one's you didn't know where on the practical, you can still take away that you successfully learned a lot of information.

The TEAS or PSB is the greater determining factor in your program acceptance.

The 20 points or so you lost by not getting the 'a' , can easily be cancelled out by doing well on the entrance test.

HS students can also be accepted to the program by their entrance test scores without having to take any college classes.

So if you got all 'A's' and some "younger" person is sitting next to you during the TEAS, they want your spot also.

Keep you eye on the larger picture, relax, and enjoy the holidays.

Are all these 4.0s I see with y'all working full time?

Doubt it.

Specializes in Psychiatry.

Anthropology - A

Microbiology - A

Micro Lab - A

World Religions - A

Art Appreciation - A

Logic & Critical Thinking - B ( was only 0.02 points from an A, so mad about that one!!!)

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I work about 50 hours a week, but don't let that fool you. If I had the means and support to be able to concentrate 100% on my education and not work, I'd certainly take it!

Just got my micro grade back!

A&p II- A-

College Algebra- A

Micro-B

I'm actually relieved about micro as it was the one I struggled most in.

May I ask why? I always thought micro was easier than A&P but I'm starting to think otherwise. I'm taking it next term.

Yea I made my first 4.0 ever this semester while working full time as a new LPN. But it was only A&P 1 with lab and Micro. I probably won't see that again though.

I've always been weird. I think I like how I can visualize the body and put the stuff I learned into practical use. I was the weird one in school who loved algebra and hated geometry which most of the people I know feel the opposite.

Nope not weird. That's totally me. I'll have the same problem with micro then lol

I found micro to be MUCH MUCH easier than A&P. Not nearly as much study time required as there is in A&P. I barely studied my notes for micro and still made A's on exams, paying attention in lecture was enough. Definitely not the case with A&P.

Also, I feel like learning about diseases was FAR more interesting and it just clicked right away for me. Your mileage may vary, but the content itself is much easier in my opinion.
