What do you do after a rough shift? Have fun with the girls? Eat chocolate? Or, do you just go straight to bed?

I work days....we have some really fab people on nites and what I do is rather than rush out the door I hang with my night peeps, help them get settled in, put in orders etc, get them off to a good start. The boss hates paying me for it but worst case is that they fire me and well, I would start a new job the next day and not miss a beat.....
This gets me back in a positive frame of mind. Hanging with the night peeps is a welcome relief from having to tolerate the automatons that I work with on days.....ugh

Thomas Aquinas recommends: "suitable" pleasures, a good cry, a sympathetic friend, contemplation, a good night's sleep and a nice bath. And a glass of wine.

I have a longish drive home, so I listen to a special playlist that I have put together just for such occasions and I CRANK it. :)

Cup of Constant Comment Tea, Harliquin Romance or stroll through Allnurses humor section helpful, tossing in Chocolate if I'm in meltdown mode.

I do (did) a lot of cussing and screaming at the traffic......with the windows rolled up of course. No desire to twerk off some bonehead who's got a weapon and a lack of social skills. I also do a lot of venting here and with my son, who's worked in healthcare all his life and knows the same residents, families, and co-workers I do (did).
