Florida International University (FIU) CRNA 2025

Published

Here's a thread for those of us applying to FIU's CRNA program for Spring of 2025. Good luck to everyone!

Specializes in ICU.

Following. I just applied for this program.

Specializes in Nurse Mentoring & Tutoring.

The best advice we've ever heard (directly from a CRNA Program Faculty member no less!) is "Preparing for your interview should start while you're in the ICU, working on your application."

To that we add-- If you plan to apply, you should plan to interview ?

Cheering you all on!! You got this!! ?

Specializes in CVICU.

Hi everyone! my name is Lisa. I am a CVICU nurse (NeuroSurgical ICU for 1) for 1.5 years. I was also a critical care respiratory therapist for 24 years prior to nursing. I am starting the application process. I live in Palm Beach county and was soley looking to appy to Barry but am also applying to FIU. I know of the extensive commitment this program takes but I am not liking the over hour drive to class.

When I spoke to FIU, they stated they structure their class so we are only on campus two days a week, some online, and they accommodate students for clinicals in palm beach county.

Does anyone know any information about this?

I am studying for my CCRN and taking it in 6 weeks. I have been shadowing a CRNA and although I did take organic chemistry, its an old class but FIU doesnt have a timeline. I heard Barry is considering eliminating the GRE requirement. One of the reasons Barry was my first choice is they have a campus in Palm Beach Gardens and we live closeby.

Any information would be great and good luck to everyone!

Rooting for you Lisa!! You got this!! ?

Specializes in ICU, Coronary ICU, MICU, Cardiac Cath Lab.

Good luck to everyone who applied. Anyone know from previous classes when the interviews start to come out. Program deadline next month.

On their nursingCAS app it says that all interviews will be held in person on May 9th and 10th.

Specializes in ICU.

I'll be applying for this cycle.  Does anyone know if having been in the military carries any specific weight?  I saw there's a question on CAS about previous military experience.

Specializes in Medical ICU, CCRN.

Does anyone know how long it takes for our application to be verified on NursingCAS? I applied three days ago, but my application status is still "received". I also applied to another program on the same day, but it is "verified".
