In search for the perfect nursing job...

in my search of the perfect job, i took a pay-cut which paid off thereafter. i was working in the mainland when my then don said to me in a kidding manner " i heard there's an opening for a nursing position in hawaii, that position would fit you like a glove" well that did it for me, i kept on it till i heard from them, next thing i knew i was on my way to hawaii for an interview. consequently, while i was waiting along with 6 other candidates i went to the bathroom and there without my knowledge was the recruiter, with exchanged greetings as he got a call and asked the other person on his cell, "how many have shown up, hmm..and i'm so hungry i don't have time to get breakfast.. oh well". i ran downstairs to the cafeteria and ordered a breakfast tray to go and offered it to him. evidently, besides my credentials it worked, because i got the job and here you have me going on 10 years and still loving my dream job in hawaii:d

Joining a nurses's association helped me. People in the organization got to know me and when I needed a job change, I had a network.
