1. Do you love, like or hate your job? Definite like.

2. What field of nursing are you in? Med-Surg.

3. Are you FT, PT, PD? PD.

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it? I am barely out of my probationary period, so I still have the mix of excitement and dread. *chuckle.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction? Seeing patients tucked in, pain-free, content and recovering on my nights. Hearing about our outcomes improving. Receiving little thank you notes in my mailbox or getting hugs from patients on discharge. It all matters.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you? On a good day...3, since I'm still new. On a bad day, off the charts - my face gets red, my hair gets wily and I fly up and down the hallways. It's during those moments that I notice the experienced nurses watching me, always slightly amused. :p

7. What causes you the most job stress? Ugh, admissions at or after 6. C'mon! Poor communication between staff, (all members of staff - dietary, housekeeping, PT/OT, MDs, other nurses.)

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

I think if we all treated each other with an ounce more respect and patience, it would make a world of difference. If management wouldn't spend of all their time inventing new forms and uses for our time (which used to be spent on care), that would also be pretty sweet.

JME, of course.

I love my Job.

2. What field of nursing are you in?

I am in home health pediatric vent patients.

3. Are you FT, PT, PD?

Over time 40-50 hours a week.

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

I mostly look forward to it. It depends on parents and the case.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

When the parents or the kid tell me how much they appreciate me/ When the patient is finally well enough for me to move to next patient.

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?3 on most days. 8 on the rough ones. I have had a few 10 days.

7. What causes you the most job stress?

Bad nurses(grrrr) and parents who fail to give me the information I need/change things without passing it down.

A perfect world where all the equipment that I need/want was available(no rationing).

1. Do you love, like or hate your job?

Love the work.

2. What field of nursing are you in?

PACU

3. Are you FT, PT, PD?

FT, 42 hour week.

4. Do you look forward to going to work or dread it?

Not dread. I deeply dislike the company I work for - for various reasons, but primarily because I I prefer bosses with ethics... But when I get to work, and see my colleagues faces, and hear the banter, and exchange a few hugs, I'm smiling again.

5. What gives you the most job satisfaction?

When one of the really stuffy anaesthetists tells us ours is the best PACU he's ever encountered...

6. On a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you?

It's a PACU. Half the time we're so laid back we're almost horizontal. Then the paw-paw hits the fan and the stress levels hit 8; not higher than that though, it's a bad thing if the PACU staff get hysterical... The pre op patients don't like it....

7. What causes you the most job stress?

Not being appreciated by my employer, who wouldn't know a PACU if it hit him in the face, pinched his nose, stuck a tube down his throat and started ventilating him...

8. What do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day?

A total redesign of the current PACU into the layout which I have already given the hospital manager. At present, it's a nightmare.

1. do you love, like or hate your job? like, a lot

2. what field of nursing are you in? casual in med-surg and ltc

4. do you look forward to going to work or dread it? most days look forward to it. if i'm getting enough hours, i can turn down wards/ltc that i don't like working on and take only the ones i like, so that is a bonus

5. what gives you the most job satisfaction? happy patients/residents. a feeling that i've made a positive impact in someone's day. performing great skills like vac dressings. chest tube, drain and suture removals are some of my favourites.

6. on a scale of 0-10 (0 being least stressful, 10 being most stressful) how stressed does your job make you? acute care usually 5-7, ltc usually 2-4. but the other night shift it was a 10!!!

7. what causes you the most job stress? unsafe staff/patient ratios, non teamwork coworkers.

8. what do you think could make your job better, so you get the most joy and satisfaction out of your work day? only work 8 hour day shifts ;), have more staff per shift. getting a permanent position in acute care.
