Worst semester ever!

Published

I am happy to report that I have survived my worst semester of Nursing School so far. I cried more in the past week from stress and exhaustion than I have cried in a long time. Then I cried tears of relief when I got my final grade for the semester. Now I'm going to sleep for three weeks before I start my LAST semester of school! Woohoo!!

You poor babies. If you hate nursing school so much, I am very concerned about your ability to cope with the real world of nursing practice. Just as much (if not more) stress & the stakes are so much higher.

Or maybe it was just a tough semester. Everyone has them, and most of us go on to be excellent nurses. Your comment was really condescending! Talk about eating your young!

Springchick1, working full time and nursing school, as far as I'm concerned you are a rock star! Enjoy your break!

I think that almost all nursing students at one point or another have had a break down or a cry at one point or another because nursing school is very stressful for sure! Just persevere and try to see the light at the end of the tunnel! So many times in my undergraduate degree have I had stressful situations and clinical instructors who thought i was stupid and I made it :-) and so will you! :-)

I agree with Houtx, the real world is plenty more tough, the emotional fragility on this website is sometimes astounding.

I don't want to offend you, but honestly how can you be a nurse and say something like that? Talk about empathy; people come here for support.

And nursing school is not "real world"?

And you people wonder why we can't stand old, bitter, burned out nurses. Maybe you should look into retirement?

Again, I had a horrible stressful semester and I cried a few times. That doesn't mean I'm emotionally fragile. I live and work in the real world so I know how tough it is. You must have made it through school without a bit of stress. Well congrats to you for that. Some of us aren't so lucky.

Congrats on making it through a difficult semester! I've had a couple of them in a row and am soon going into my last semester, too. I wish you the best as move towards graduation...and beyond! :-)

AN prides itself on being a supportive environment. For those that did not experience stress during school, congrats.

However, for those who have experienced stress during school, please don't negate those feelings. Thanks.

Working full time during nursing school...ugh exhausting!

3 school days, 3 work days, and 1 day where I should've been studying but I didn't have the heart to do anything but spend time with my husband and kid. It. Was. Awful. But it ended!

Ruh roh! Let's not go that route please. I too would like to be a member of the 'old crusty bats society'. Let's let this one go. And congrats Spring Chick I feel like that most of time in nursing school:yes:.
