Why do so many cheerleaders enter nursing?

I would like to see some diversity. Why can't more nerdy girls become nurses?

I am a big nerd. In fact one reason I went into the medical field was Star Trek! I can't do any back flips, at least not by choice.?

Cheerleader here! Never could do any type of gymnastics though. I did graduate with honors and have wanted to be a nurse since 16 yo. Looking back at pics, I fit the classic stereotypical look. (of the 90's). Definitely not the stereotypical attitude.

I was super nerdy in high school. I studied during lunch time. I was MAJORLY shy and quiet. I had acne, braces, glasses and I was so socially awkward.

Glad I outgrew some of those traits. eek.

I’m very very nerdy. But I’m also friendly and bouncy and I smile a lot. And I have artificial fingernails. So maybe if you met me you’d assume I was something I’m not?

For some context, I've seen online that lots of people think that the "mean, cheerleader-type" girls from high school were the ones that went into nursing. I think I started seeing that after nurses started making those ridiculous Tik Tok videos.

Does hoping, praying, I could be a cheerleader but not having an iota of cheerleader self confidence, looks, or personality count?

But seriously cheerleaders can be, are, intelligent, confident, well adjusted girls/women.

At my 50 year high school reunion they seemed to have had happy lives. And they even hung out with me....wowser!
