Okay ya'll, tell me what you think about this. One male nurse at LTC facility, involved with 4 female staff members who all work the same shift. The supervisor (RN), the LPN that assists him on his hall, and 2 CNA's. Usually, I'm pretty much one to think "to each his own". However, I think think this situation is going to end up with someone hurt. :chair: So many crazy things happen at this place, I don't even know why it fazes me. But his relationship with the CNA that works my hall is screwing up her job performance. She is so worried about what he's doing and who he's interacting with she can't get her job done. She left today without getting any vital signs or charting input/output. She's frequently talking about how she's gonna beat the supervisor's a@# if she catches them together. She knows about him and the supervisor, but none of the others know about each other (if that makes any sense). I don't know what this man has that is so good. But to get to the point, it's like going to a soap opera every weekend instead of work. I still love my job; it's kind of interesting to watch this all unfold. There is no professionalism anywhere. Today was one of those days where I just didn't feel like a nurse at all. It amazes me what people are willing to sacrifice in order to get their groove on. I can't tell the supervisor about this CNA's job peformance because he's seeing her too. I think this matter is going to have to go to the administrator, it's too much for me to handle anymore:confused: . Any advice?

Hoo-boy! What a mess! Reminds me of the time I worked at the Cracker Barrel and caught my manager being intimate with another manager in the back room. I told no one...but next thing I know, my hours are cut way down and other things, obviously to get rid of me....which it did.
Yeah, like EVERYONE didn't already know about them anyway.
Soon she was begging for me to come back. I didn't.... but they were soon fired.
Don't know what to tell you....

Hate to say it, but....they ARE adults, so they are totally legal and totally aware of their actions. If that is how THEY wish to conduct themselves in their "private life"...so be it. BUT...if their behavior affects their job performance, then they should be dealt with accordingly.

Human are interesting animals.
If the one knows about one of the others why would she wanna be with someone sho is chilling with someone else? i often wonder when these situations come up. but like it was stated they are adults...

Report them to administration, give details and walk. Dont let yourself be drawn into a lawsuit if someone gets hurt by having something serious overlooked or ignored.
But then,, just for sh*** and giggles you could just clue everyone else in on who everyone else is sleeping with, then sit back and watch the fireworks!!!! NA,, just kidding, but wouldnt ya just luv to.

Your situation sounds like the assisted living facility I use to work at. The male LPN was the charge nurse and was having sex with 3-4 of the CNA'S. The director of nurses was caught having sex with the maintenance man. The CNA who caught the DON having sex with the maintenance man at work reported it. The DON got mad and fired the CNA for spilling the beans.

Act like the relationships aren't going on, and get people reprimanded for slacking on the job.

I feel for you wouldn't want to be in that situation. I feel I would also put everything in documentation keep me a copy and then submit the other to administration and walk far away. I wouldn't want to jeopardize my lisense for their actions if someone was injured or hurt.

If patient safety is being compromised you have to do what is right. If your job is being jeapordized you have to protect yourself. Otherwise my advice is to do nothing. It WILL blow up in their faces in time and you do not want to be a part of it. You can always claim you were too busy doing your own job to keep tabs on what everyone else was doing. Been there and seen it.
