To make sure I got the professor I wanted I decided to take Chemistry over the summer. Accelerated... I know, crazy! So far listening to upper classmate's advice about instructors hasn't failed me yet so I'm going for it! Anyone else taking summer courses? What are your plans for the kids over the summer while you go to school?
I just took chemistry during summer 1 session at my school and I am taking A&P 2 and Human growth and development for the summer 2 session. It is definitely challenging taking summer classes especially the sciences. Chem stressed me out but I ended up getting an A. I am worried about A&P 2 because I remember how difficult A&P 1 was during a regular semester. My counselor strongly urged me not to take all these classes but I really want to be eligible for the spring nursing program so I went for it. Fingers crossed!
I'm almost done with my first semester back in school (in 15 years!). I underestimated how long/hard some of these classes would be over a short semester. I'm currently taking English, Psychology, College Algebra, and General Chemistry and Lab. I have an A in all but Algebra. Also, taking all of the classes online except Chemistry and Lab. I feel like I'm doing school work 8am-10pm and my poor kids are just fending for themselves...hehe. Finals are in a week and a half and I cannot wait to get it done with!!!
I have a little bit of a lighter load in the Fall, taking a CNA certification course (6credit hours), English II, and A&P I. I really want to get an A in A&P so I hope this crammed semester has prepped me to kill it. :) Pre-reqs are hard, in the sense that it just seems so far from the actual goal of nursing school, but a necessary step as well.
Chin up! Summer is almost over!
In the final week of my summer semester and I should be finishing my anatomy class up with a 4.0, which I am elated about. The class average on the exams has been in the low 70's and I will be finishing as one of the top grades in the class. It has been a crazy summer with all the studying that I have been doing, an average of 40 or more hours a week, working a full time job and getting volunteer hours in, but I do love being back in school after a 7 year break. Looking forward to my 3 weeks off before the start of Fall semester.
For those who took summer classes how did you end up doing?

I'm taking Pathophysiology as well. How are you able to keep up with everything? It's sooo much information. Every week feels like finals week.
How is your class set up? Do you have quizzes, homework, in-class assignments, or just tests? And how are your tests set up? Our tests are NO MULTIPLE CHOICE AT ALL. Everything is all short answer/fill-in-the-blank/essay. It's literally draining me
How do you study? I normally do flashcards, but it's soo much info so by the time I finish making all of them, I basically have no time to study.
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just curious as to how someone else is handling this class during the summer.
