Who's taking summer courses?

Published

To make sure I got the professor I wanted I decided to take Chemistry over the summer. Accelerated... I know, crazy! So far listening to upper classmate's advice about instructors hasn't failed me yet so I'm going for it! Anyone else taking summer courses? What are your plans for the kids over the summer while you go to school?

I'm taking 2 six week courses this summer, microbiology and algebra . Starting week 3 tomorrow and honestly with a full time job and summer going on, it's been really hard. The math class is online, which I have done before but never a math class and it's very difficult. I just keep reminding myself of the end goal and it will be worth it.

I took a 3 week world lit class.....uuugh! I wouldn't recommend a class that compressed! also took college algebra(nursing school wouldn't accept my stats from another school) and Spanish 1. Currently taking Spanish 2 so when I begin the nursing program this fall all I have left are the nursing classes and 1 art class.

I'm halfway done with nursing school (ADN program). I'm working on classes towards the BSN this summer. I'm taking Organic Chemistry in an 8 week session and American History. The Organic Chem class is a KILLER!!! Can't wait to be done :D

About to start week 5 of my 9 week A&P I summer course! Needless to say it's been interesting. I've never taken anatomy in my life. I have a test Tuesday on skin/bones/joints and it's challenging considering I haven't had to learn all the bones since 4th grade, but I love the pace of summer sciences!

I taking Pathophysiology this summer...so far still A

I'm taking Chemistry on campus this session, and a Music Appreciation class online. Would've only taken chem but I needed the extra credits for financial aid. Hoping I can keep up... This is my first class since "going back" to college after several years. My professor has good ratings on ratemyprofessors so, fingers crossed! Classes start July 7th, have yet to make my way to the bookstore for the texts.

I'm taking Eng. 101 and elementary algebra online. Both are six week courses with the same start and end dates. I work full-time, and I can honestly say that this will be the last time I take two short-term classes while working. I'm starting my third week, and I'm exhausted. Kudos to you all that take STEM courses in an accelerated format, my hats off to you!

Specializes in ICU.

Taking college algebra online. It's 8 weeks. Just took my midterm yesterday. It is incredibly hard and I will be glad to escape with a C or B. I don't usually accept anything lower than an A, but as I sit here typing this in the Phoenix airport traveling to Hawaii for a week after just coming back from Dallas for a week, I will take it. I have an incredibly busy summer and I have to have this class done to start the program in August. I'm cramming a lot in this summer!!!

Took a Minimester stats class. 10 days long. 3 hours of class per day. 12 hours of studying per day. Got an A in the class. Nailed it!

Half way through my anatomy class and the last exam was a killer, the bones, joints and muscular system. Waiting to get the results back on that one still. Luckily the instructor drops one exam from the final grade, thinking this may be my one. On to the nervous system and will have an exam next Wednesday on it. My boyfriend is wondering if I still exist with working full time and studying practically every minute of my free time, it has been awhile since we actually spent any time together.

I have Intro to Organic Chemisitry/Biochem and associated lab (on campus) and Statistics (online). I actually enjoy the summer semesters because I don't have so many courses to shuffle around! I feel like I am actually LEARNING and not just acquiring facts. I had to schedule my courses so that I had as little time on campus as possible, so I managed an all day on campus schedule on Tuesdays and an early morning lecture on Thursdays so my husband takes Tuesdays off and works a late shift on Thursdays and stays home with the kids so we don't have to pay for daycare. All I have left to take is Microbiology and Public speaking in the fall ( and at least 2 electives to stay full-time) and, hopefully, a letter of acceptance into nursing school. I think I'm just so excited about how close it is finally!
