A&p help
How important is reading the whole chapter for your class? In my class reading the whole chapter is not necessary and just bogs my mind down with too many details. Does your professor hand out study guides or anything? My A&P grade went from barely holding onto an A- to having a solid A once I figured out what to study rather than studying everything. This may not work for you as everyone learns differently. The reading may well be completely necessary for your class. But it's possible that it's not and you're studying everything rather than what you specifically need to be studying. Also, acronyms have been a life saver. I use them all the time for memorization.

Algebra help
Are you taking pre-reqs now? If so, go to your college and see if they have a tutoring lab or something. My school has this great tutoring lab that offers math and reading help along with other subjects and prepares you to take placement tests. And it's all free!

buying older edition books
I would ask the professor. If there are a lot of differences or different page numbers it may be a big deal. Then again it may not. The professor should be able to tell you.

Starting CNA Classes tomorrow :)!!!!
Good luck! I find when I sit with the super attentive students in the front I push myself harder and learn more. When I took my CNA classes that was a huge help during the theory. I suggest keeping as busy as possible during clinical's and answer any and all call lights you can and try to make as great an impression as you can. This will aid you in finding a job. Not only are you more likely to get letters of recommendation from your instructor(s), but you could also potentially be hired by the facility you are doing your clinical's at. Smile, be friendly, and work hard and you'll do great! Good luck! :)

Who's taking summer courses?
A&P 1 and a few easier online classes. I have my hands unbelievably full with A&P but the online classes are just some general ed classes and are pretty simple. I'll be ridiculously glad to see the end of summer though!

Clinical drama-question about personal property
Um, wow, JustBeachyNurse was trying to be helpful. Her advice is pretty sound. If your lunch is in the bag can you stick your lunch in a fridge or something and just not bring the bag? Or, if there's lunch money in your bag maybe put it in your pocket and then you won't need the bag? I don't see a lot more options available if you're concerned about your stuff. If you still want to bring a bag, perhaps you could bring a less trendy bag that you won't be as concerned about.

What do nurses think about doulas?
Well, I'm not a nurse, I'm a CNA and doing my pre-reqs for nursing school, but I do have an opinion on doulas. I love them. I had one with each of my births and I don't know what I would have done without them. Of course, my husband was in Iraq each time so otherwise my options were my mil (not happening) or my childless bff who was of the opinion "birth? gross." My doulas were amazing. They helped me with breathing and with keeping me calm. I told my husband if we ever had more kids that even though he would be there this time I would still have a doula, because the support you get from a woman who understands and respects your wishes for you and your baby and has been through it before is just amazing. I had truly wonderful doula experiences and highly recommend them.

Au pair with full time RN job?
My husband and I looked into getting an Au Pair before we decided he would be a SAHD. I know some people who do need more than 10 hours a day of child care occasionally, and they usually schedule their Au Pair for ten hours and then have a sitter, friend, or family member come over the remaining time needed. Though that isn't too often, and if you're doing 12 hour shifts say 3 days a week then those extra hours will add up quickly for a sitter. I can't think of a way around it for at night, but during summer maybe a day camp for a few hours would help? Good luck!

How long was your CNA school?
I start this Friday. I believe it's 23 days total. It's spread over 10 weekends with a few Fridays thrown in.
