Hello! I start my RN/FNP program in January and as pre-licensure students we have to wear white scrubs. So far every brand is very nearly see-through. Other than beige underwear or pantyhose underneath, are there any brands that are a thicker material?
Thanks

Welcome to allnurses! :balloons:
The all-cotton ones tend to be a little less, umm, translucent. Or, if you sew (or know someone who does), you can make your own out of whatever white fabric suits you -- all of the main pattern companies offer patterns.

Walmart carries a brand called SImply Basic and they're a heavier twill than most.

if you can find a supplier of food service uniforms, you will be all set. Very sturdy thick twill fabric.

try the lady grace catalogue. they are also online. i'm sorry i don't have a link. they sell virtually every conceivable type and style of underwear and would probably have a solution. i love their delicate wash. it gets out blood and other gross stains, plus it smells wonderful. you can hand or machine wash with it.

I like Cherokee. I also LOVE UniformCity brand and they are pretty cheap. UniformCity.com, BestofScrubs.com, or Tafford.com are all good sources. Shop around. If you have an ALCO store near you they have good brands of scrubs priced affordably. Good Luck. ALSO, NEVER wear white undies with white pants, beige is best.
