WHITE Scrubs--Oh Dear

Published

Hello! I start my RN/FNP program in January and as pre-licensure students we have to wear white scrubs. So far every brand is very nearly see-through. Other than beige underwear or pantyhose underneath, are there any brands that are a thicker material?

Thanks

I used to wear white denim.

But Dickies are good too.

It doesn't matter what color underwear you wear with the "translucent" scrubs pants - you can still see them. There is a nurse at my hospital who wears white scrub pants and underwear the color of skin and you can still see them!

And her scrub top is at her waist.

Hey, good luck in school!

If anyone knows any tips or tricks I'd reaaaallly like to know as well!! I'm very conscious about this whole white pants see through thing.

Koi makes a thicker white scrub pant, and they are very cute! A little pricey, but worth it for me. My uniform pants were Landau, almost transparent!

Yes, I am a new nursing student too and noticed the.. see-through.. like effect too. Try going to walmart, or practically anywhere, and just get some cami shirts and it should help you feel a little more comfortable.. haha :)

I have to wear white bottoms everyday and I have found that all white bottoms are a bit transparent. I have found the only way to be discreet is with nude undies that match your skin color as close as possible. Just stay away from the bright collors and the ones with allover loud prints. Everybody knows we all wear undies. Making sure your pants are not too skin tight helps. If you like the tighter pants stay away from thongs. The lines give you way.

White is not that bad. There is little that ends up on white pants that can't be removed with bleach. Can't bleach the colors. Just my thoughts.

We had to wear white in RN school too...We had to buy Dove brand and they are not see through. You cannot see white or nude colored underwear through them.

they changed our scrubs to white tops and blue bottoms. Now, i'm thankful for blue bottoms. I hope the tops are not transparent ..

Has anyone tried putting one pair of scrub bottoms inside the other and sewing them together? I was thinking about doing this, figure it might be a tad too thick and maybe uncomfortable if i dont sew it right but thought it might work. Just though about this but if you sew it so its inside to inside then it makes them reversable.

White dance tights under white pants would hide your undies well. Chef's pants are available in white, and they're made of heavier fabric than nursing scrubs.

As someone else stated Wal-Mart's pants are thicker and you can't see your undies :)
